Empty drop down menu

Can someone tell me what the drop down menu is for if the only thing on it is the Second Life Logo with a yellow explaniation point and an 'ok' button?

I waited a good while for some wording to appear and when none did I relogged. I needed to anyway.

But in the room - a large building - were two women playing Slave/Master. I know they were playing because at one point they were close enough to me and their conversation indicated as such. What I am trying to say is that the scenaro was not a true Slave/Master relationship. And I was in a club, not a place where this type of behavior/lifestyle is of the norm.

I am adding all these bits of information because someone will want to know: where were you, what were you doing...etc.

I was in the club dancing by myself, the other women were there. I had not been talking to anyone else by IM, I was not messing with or had been messing with my inventory.

If I had not relogged would the menu have gone away after a while? What could have happened if I had said ok?

This has happened twice to me. Both times, it was when SL was experiencing severe problems.

LL will sometimes send out warning notices in this situation..."We are experiencing technical difficuties, please refrain from in world transactions until further notice" and so on.

I don't know why the blank notices. I can think of two possible scenarios...either user error on the part of the Notice Sending Linden...she pushed the Send button before entering the text...

Or, the breakage is so bad that it has affected notices. So, they were trying to tell you that SL is broken, but it's broken in such a way that they can't tell you...

I receieved a couple of those this weekend, Lindal has it right I think.
