I REALLY need help

I contacted Linden Labs because I haven't been able to get on all day. I keep getting an error message logging me out and telling me to try back in like 3 mins. The solution provided was to move my avitar to another region because I am stuck. I dont know how to do this I am still new.....can someone help me please!

At the bottom of the login screen is a dropdown list offering you the choices of where to log in to - Home, Last Location, and Region. Select the Region option and type the name of a sim into the textbox. Any sim will do but not the problem one.

To get the location box on your login screen go to Edit -- Preferences (Edit is on the top left of your screen) -- General tab and tick "Show start location on login screen.'

Then write a sim name in the white text box for location as Phil said. Mohrr is quiet. Bodega is fairly quiet.

I tried to change my location but anywhere I type it wont let me go. Anything else I can do...

Try unplugging your router for a few minutes to reset it.
Make sure no firewalls are blocking SL.

How many places have you tried? Try at least one place on the mainland.

I dont remember to many different lands so I tried Ahern, Leftofheaven, and Plush Nu.....any idea's

Unless you managed to get online since your last post, it's because you are showing as online right now. You are probably stuck as a ghost avatar somewhere. Did you crash the last time you were on? Depending on where you are, possibly the sim owner can restart the sim. That'll fix it, but isn't always an option...

and I tried the router thing like 5 hrs ago...I haven't been able to get on all day
I have tried to reinstall sl and take my security off and everything.

I was on till about 3 am and I logged off. I dont know how to contact the owner of the sim..

Make an alt and go find yourself

Betty might have the answer there. I've never been ghosted that I know of, but I've come across it where the person can't log in because their av ghost is still in, and I've also heard of cases where the person continues logging in as normal even though their ghost is standing somewhere all the time.

Try getting back to LL, and tell them that you appear to be logged in even though are not. They should be able to sort it then.

I have been in touch with them I have had to reopen my ticket many times...no matter where i try to login at it wont let me...I know where my "ghost" is it is Kings Plaza linden labs told me...but I dont know what to do from there.

I've had a look too, and you are logged in as far as SL is concerned. That'll be the reason. Well done Betty

To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing you can do yourself. If King's Plaza is mainland, ask LL to get rid of the ghost by restarting the sim. If it's a private sim, you could try asking LL to restart it if the sim owner doesn't respond to your request quickly enough.

Kings Plaza is a private sim and is offline. If it's not in the process of being restarted, I'd get hold of LL again and ask them to sort something out.

There was a time period about two years ago when my husband used to get ghosted all the time. Even without the sim restart it will *sometimes* fix itself eventually, but it really is frustrating in the meantime. However, I had a ghost stuck in front of my shop for a couple of days awhile back and finally got a hold of my landlord to restart the sim and that fixed it. Hopefully, LL can get it fixed for you faster than that.

I get them in the store sometimes and a Linden always restarts the sim as soon as I ask (it's mainland). Kings Plaza in now online so it must have been being restarted. Is everything ok now, Elinore?

If it's a private sim you will need to contact the sim owner and request a sim restart. If it's Mainland get back with LL again and request a sim restart.

My guess is it's a private sim since LL did not restart the sim that they confirmed you were ghosted in. I don't know how you find out who the sim owner is if you don't know already. That is a problem with private sims...........LL will restart if it's Mainland.
