Does anybody use the Recorder under the Advanced Menu? How well does it work? Where does it save the files?

I tried it a couple years ago. Made we go repeat a series of movements as I recall. Couldn't think of anything useful to do with it.

Use "Fraps" instead, it works wonderfully and starts and stops at the touch of they key of your choosing.
I do not think the recording tools work anymore.
You may also which to check out the Machinima subforum.

I think the recording tools still work, or they did until recently, but only at ground level. If I try them on my sky platform I always 'fly' in playback, even if I'm not meant to be. I haven't found any real use for recording, though.

Briana is confusing the Advanced menu's Recorder, which records keystrokes and mouse movements and plays them back, with the old video recorder that used to be on the File menu. The old video recorder has been gone for a good while. It worked so badly it was removed.
I think the keystroke and mouse recorder might be intended for use by Linden Lab to test the program code. I haven't found any use for it. It does work to some degree, but I can't think of anything to use it for.
