Putting in a query for my lovely partner who's into Vintage apparel in a big way. She would like to get some 1940s hairstyles, in particular one that has curls/waves at the side and is longish. She's found a couple that she describes as the 'sculptie blob variety' (not quite right) and would love to find some styles that have flexi in them/are the prim type. Any help from you good folks would be appreciated!

Um......if I recall correctly...House of Heart actually had a couple vintage looking styles that had more flexi flow to them. ;)

Inguene has a few I think. Also there was a store called Bosse Nova (or something like that) but she closed that one and opened a new one that I can never remember the name of - I'll find the name and post it. There is another one in my mind, but also drawing a blank on the name, so when I get inworld later, I'll find that one also and post it.

Not sure exactly how retro you want to go, but Artilleri has some really cool 50s-looking ones.

Thank you. I had to rename the LM in my inventory to have both names cuz I just cannot remember that new one for anything.

In any case, at one time there were 3 or 4 really cute vintage hair styels - 20s to 50s. I have them all.

The other place that I nabbed some really cute vintage styles - 20s to 50s - was The Stringer Mausoleum/Shrine (odd name for a hair store).

Thank you all! I'm the partner in question *grins*
I've found a couple of styles I like. Eras I'm interested in are '20s - '50s, but most emphasis on '40s pinup styles.

Comme Il Faut sounded good but does not seem to exist anymore :(

Also, if anyone knows of a good reproduction of the burlesque star Dita Von Teese's hair when it was longer, do let me know!

You can also try Amity Island - look up Second Cinema I believe it is. Several shops, including one where you can get 50's styles poodle skirts and skates.

I wear 40's vintage hair a LOT since I used to work in a vintage 40's jazz club. My first one was from Curl Up and Dye called "Joan Red."

The ones I tend to wear the most because they also work with my Victorian look (I'm wearing it in my profile photo) is from Goldie Locks called "Isabelle."

I saw a style that was the shoulder length, wavy 40's look at Analog Dog recently as one of her new releases that unfortunately I can't recall the name of now. There is another on that not sure if I would strictly categorize it as 40's but is shorter and looks like it's been curled with pin curls called "Mia" (also new release).

Hope that helps.

Another vote here for Ingenue :)...others I like are Curio's "Gertrude" (a sculpty curly 30's bob).....BP "okappa" (a really classic sharp-cut 20's bob)..oh and Lamb's "Bonjour Operator" (a short 50's style with beret).

Vintage hair? How about the entire pack for $15 Linden?

It's the "Deal of the week" right now, at Stringer Mausoleum. (Look up, when you land.)

SLurl: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Lyashko/143/165/299

It's called "Cherry Bomber" and it's the 1940s rolled-hairstyle. A la Joan Crawford, sort of.

Hurry hurry! ;-)

And thanks to Freebie Telegraph http://freebietelegraph.wordpress.com I knew about it.

I have a Marilyn hair - next time I log in I'll see where I got it from. However, I think it came with an entire avatar (tho I never wore the shape, I'm happy with my own).

As for Debra, she changed her look a few times. Which hair style of hers are you looking for exactly? Which era? The short, shaggy one?

I have the Marilyn one from Ingenue -- got the rest of the outfit, with the famous pose from Jetdolls.

"Pocket Mirrors" has 4 hairstyles available in the boxes, for either 1 or 10 Linden, a pair of blue eyes (ew, Lol) for 1 Linden. At least 2 of the hairstyles would be 1960s vintage.

They have other styles too for 100L per color.
