I think I saw something about this along ago and cannot for the life of me remember the answer. A good friend of mine recently opened a club on an estate and was renting from the sim owner. Two nights ago, this jerk IM'd everyone of his tenants and told them he had other plans for the sim and gave them notice to empty the sim of their items. The jerk part came in when he really gave them a couple hours over night and so when my friend went to her club/home, everything was gone.
She then went somewhere to try and sort out the cluster of inventory she had in her Lost/Found and she realized she was missing a sizable amount of her inventory. I suggested clearing cache, etc. and relogging and she already tried that twice.
Do you guys have any suggestions? Is she just out this inventory?
Thanks so much in advance for your help on this.

please READ this info about this same thing that happened to me. then please vote for the JIRA issue. http://money-pyramid.com/sl-inventory-loss.htmlIf people aren't voting for this issue on JIRA Linden Labs will not fix this major security issue dealing with inventory & returned objects.

The answer is probably fairly simple. The items in her lost and found are "coalesced items". Several things sent to inventory at once, as if the owner selected multiple things and took them into inventory all at once. When a parcel owner or sim owner returns all of a person's prims, they get lumped together randomly in lost and found. A royal pain for the owner of the items, but a bit easier on the asset servers than returning each one separately.
What looks like a stack of boxes with a name like "Object" or "Palm Tree" may actually be 20 or more separate things, that the asset server returned as a single lump. What your friend will need to do is to go to a large sandbox - preferably one that allows rezzing Linden plants, if she had any of the 1-prim trees or shrubs set out, and drag each of the items in her lost and found out onto the ground, so she can see what it really is. If you find, for example, that an apparent single item named "fern" was actually 4 ferns, and the east half of her club's building, you can then take the separate items back into inventory one at a time, so you can see what is what.

I appreciate your answer Ceera, but she's already pulled everything out of her Lost and Found and gone through it all. Every last bit. And she is still missing about $10k Lindens worth of stuff. Granted, not a huge amount of money in RL, but she's a bit ticked about it.
If they do not show up, is she just out of luck then?

And I just talked to her again. Everything she lost was non-transfer. Someone told her that when a sim owner returns everything like that, the non-transfer items delete. Is this true? I've never heard that before, and it sounds wrong. These are items like the contest board, etc. Thanks again for any help.

Apologies....

Okay.....it turns out she has two coalesced items she can't rez. We apparently had a communication error. She cannot rez these two coalesced items, and I'm sure her missing stuff is there, obviously. The message she gets says, "Cannot rez plants on this land" but that is her land and she can rez plants there.
Any answers on that one?

If she is in a group with a large parcel she can ask the owner to give her planting rights temporarily. If she isn't in a group like that I'd bet someone can help her out by letting her into their landgroup temporarily.
I can't think of any sandboxes that allow plant-rezzing, but does anyone else know of one? Wasn't Torley's island Here referred to in another thread? Maybe that was for terraforming.

PLEASE READ MY LINK I GAVE YOU EARLIER.... Those items more then likely wont rez ever again. If you get 1024+ prims back at once on a Land Return. Those items are GONE!!!!! I lost 40-50 games last month because I could not log on to pay for my tier rent. Please read on how Linden Labs will DO NOTHING for you on getting those items back. http://money-pyramid.com/sl-inventory-loss.htmlplease click the JIRA link on my website to vote for this issue. I lost over $150K LINDENS of items because of Linden Labs not fixing these bugs!!!!!
