need help with defunked security

Ok, stupid me.. I purchased a home security system for my house because some dork dropped 500 prim of garbage on my land..
So I rezzed it, there was no notecard etc. It had a menu and i set range and arc, then turned it on..... Well, stupid me since my other one detected who the damn owner was I did not knwo I had to enter that information! (this is what I am assuming I needed to do somehow...) SO not, guess who can;t get into her house!
If anyone has any suggestions please help me.. It is a D&C system.
Also, I can not even see it where I installed it on my ceiling!

The maker has not replied and I am afraid he might never.. I am panicking yes.. now I am.

Get as close as you can, and turn your draw distance far enough that you should be able to see it. Turn off camera restraints with the advanced menu, cam in, right click > edit it, then go to tools>set scripts to not running in selection.


This is assuming, of course, that you can get close enough to see it.

fly 100m above it (max scan range is 96m), and "set home"... then if your security device sends you home, you'll just pop back into the area.

I can get 20 m from it, I can not see it. Beacons do not show it and show transparent does not show it.

For now can you select a larger area where the orb should be, and stop scripts?

Sometimes you can see highlights more easily with the objects tab in the land tool.

Is the maker the only person available for product problems? If you bought it from a shop, were there any of those staff who's online or not notices/signs? If there are staff, start sending them IM's and notecards detailing your problem. It is possible that the creator of your security system gets their IM's capped regularly. Try sending a notecard too as a back up and don't forget to rename the notecard. I put dates on any I send too.

Do any of your friends have the same system? If someone does, ask them to come over and help you find the thing where it is hiding. Ask a friend to come and help anyway since a fresh pair of eyes might spot it. Is it possible your orb moved somehow or is inside something, like a wall?

You'll get it fixed. I forgot to add a friend's name when I got my HS orb last year. I invited him to come over and chat with some other mutual friends who were at my place. Boy, did I get a good demonstration of what someone looks like getting kicked off my land. Good thing my friend had a great sense of humor, lol.

if you can get near it, maybe you can open your land properties and highlight the items owned by you, which then puts a white box around every prim you own. perhaps you can find it that way.

well, I guess I was super tired last night. This morning I found it, It was deep in my floors..
apparently when I got kicked (grr) out of my house, I was in edit and perhaps I dragged it.. I dunno.. So yeah I'm back in my house... However, if I rerezz the thing it kickes me right back out, so I can not reset it.. but at least I'm in!

I will wait and yes I had not sent a notecard, I will be sure to do that. Frankly, after coming home and finding 500 prims of someone elses stuff my thoughts on security changed.. So I purchased an el cheapo system.. Guess you get what you pay for huh.

All I want to do is boot people out of the house, they are free to roam the waters (per sim conv). So I didn't want a fancy smancy blow em up send em to hell security orb....

Well, I will wait. and see. I have an older system in my skybox, EJ. I love it I know how to set it but I can't find it anymore to buy another one! The maker has created a new fancy smancy one and frankly, it scares me. But after last night..

I will say you guys are wonderful and very helpful. I appreciate all your ideas and help and thoughts always. I hope that never changes because I feel that without the forum I would be a wandering noob lost in a metaverse with no harness..
