ok, so I'm just going to throw this out there.... Would any businesses/vendors be interested in: A real-time traffic counter that only reports "Unique" visitors (ie does not recount avatars just standing around) in 0 extra prims the tweakable options would include: definined local area minimum time av's are in the local area timeout for re-reporting an av after they leave (think client crashes, and next day visits) simple vendor integration to count buys by av's that are cammed in. possible additions: reporting to server object | xml/rpc | e-mail | avatar hourly/daily/weekly statistics traffic vs buy statistics (good for judging interest in product @ X location) reporting by name/key note this product doesn't exist, but proof of concept is available, just wondering if there's any real interest for this type of thing to continue development

That could be useful information. It would be nice to know how long each avatar stayed in the area as well.

I like the idea a lot ... but a lot of mall owners ban listening scripts, which is why I don't use the existng ones very much.

You could do it with an invisible phantom prim detecting up to 10m away from the vendor on collision. It's a lot less laggy than sensors. But selling invisible prims to people is my idea of a support nightmare Your next best bet is an intelligent welcome mat that for once doesn't spam customers just collects info on who came through the door.

@the people that voted "Dosent Someone Make This Already?" I'd love to know who/where... no point reinventing the wheel =) @Fluf Fredriksson the welcome mat is one way to do it that is being considered From: Isobel DeSantis I like the idea a lot ... but a lot of mall owners ban listening scripts, which is why I don't use the existng ones very much. listening? or timered? because this would not involve an listens at all (except perhaps a timered listen with dialog for the owner... but most likely not)
