Here is my problem, im working with Adobe Illustrator and i made textures with alpha/transparancy in them, they looked fine once i saved them but as soon as they were uploaded to SL they ended up with artifacts around the edges where alpha would meet color. Im realy clueless as to what could cause that, im asuming its related to illustrator working with vectors instead of pixels but i realy dont know how to make it work better this is a description of the problem in detail and what i tried to fix the problem -little fuzzy garbage pixels around edges of the texture where none were when i saved (where the color meets transparance, not the edge of the texture) -reduction or increases in resolution makes little difference, artifacts still apear -rearanging the order of layers changed nothing -saving in png 24 gives me problems though i had none in gimp when i did a similar job

You might want to check for anti-aliasing. That will cause artifacting around the edges of images in SL.

there is something i read where changing the resolution in illustrator does nothing to changing the file resolution itself..
so that may be it..you may want to take it back into photoshop for that and then back into illustrator

your right since illustrator is vectorial changing resolution wil not affect the quality as it resizes instead of stretching
but i changed the resolution only to help sl load faster
