This does not happen everytime, and I'm at a loss to figure it out.
Sometimes, when I am moving my Av forward, and I happen to click near my head, a blue box pops up which indicates something along the lines of giving me options of changing the colors of my hair (Gurl6 hair). I always have to click the "ignore" in the box to exit out of it to continue to move, otherwise I stand still and can't go.
I tried deleting all of the coloring instructions that came with them, hoping that would do the trick but no go (I don't need them, I have no intention of ever even slightly playing with the shades, I love them as is).
Very annoying. It doesn't happen with all of the hairs I own, which is why I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what is going on.
Any ideas?

find the prim with the script in it and delete the scripts.

Thanks Collete. Maybe that's why some of them don't do it and some do. I've been deleting that I think with some of them, and forgot with others. I'll have to remember when I log in later to go through all of them. I just wasn't sure exactly what it was I deleted, which helped me.

i have 2 sets of newbie gurl6 hair that i actually prefer that feature, when i feel like going pink or something. i didn't realize you could just take the script out tho, and i intend to do that with my favorite wig. thanks. that was a great tip!

Unless you completely scrub the script (I'm sure someone inworld can get you a scrubber) rather than just deleting it, the script might keep running... just so ya know.

scrubber script: default { state_entry() { llSetSitText( "" ); llSetTouchText( "" ); llParticleSystem( [ ] ); llSetText( "", ZERO_VECTOR, 1.0 ); llTargetOmega( ZERO_VECTOR, 0, 0 ); llSetCameraAtOffset( ZERO_VECTOR ); llSetCameraEyeOffset( ZERO_VECTOR ); llSitTarget( ZERO_VECTOR, ZERO_ROTATION ); llSetTextureAnim( FALSE , ALL_SIDES, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0.0 ); llStopSound(); llOwnerSay("This Prim is Clean... "  ; llRemoveInventory( llGetScriptName() ); // vanish without a trace... } } happened to have it open  PS : hair problems are never ever ever stoopid

*copies the world's most thorough scrubber - thanks Sally*
@Elora - Gurl6 hair usually colors in streaks, not the whole thing. (make a copy and try recoloring it sometime, it's actually a cool effect). What that means is that there is probably a script running in every one of the linked prims that actually colors. You can probably eliminate the menu coming up by scrubbing the hair's root prim, but it still will be laggier than non-colorchange hair. Just something to remember when going to crowded areas ...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/7994626@N08/1827497519/not sure if this hair is stupid or plain terrifying - it didn't seem to realise that its owner had gone offline. If I focussed my camera onto it, all i could see was black, but on the map my viewpoint could be seen travelling at high speed right across the grid. It stayed there for ages, on a linden road, until i walked through it, when it disappeared.

right click the hair to edit it.
if its modify, you can go to the tools menu and select 'set scripts in selection to not running.'
that will turn them all off. (if there's more than one.)
if you ever want to click your head again, do the same thing, but tools: 'set scripts in selection to running.'
if you DONT have modify permissions, these options may be greyed out. but you can still rip out the script(s). you just can't ever put them (or anything else) back in.
