Has anyone tried importing megaprims from open life ?

Im just curious has anyone tried creating a mega prim in another world - say openlife for example - and then importing it into second life...? Did it work and could the megaprim be used to build ?

What software did you use to import your megaprim assuming it worked.

I just thought it might be a way of getting 'more hollow' prisms and bigger equilaterals inworld and a relatively easy way of creating just the size of megaprim you need without having to stick to the limited sizes available....

seeing how importing works into SL I doubt it will work, an prim that is imported is in fact created new so the server code for creating new prims comes in effect and that limits dimentions to 10 meter in any direction.

I tried bringing some in from Legend City using Second Inventory and it didn't work...

I am sure because you are actually recreating the prim here in sl and since you can't make them in SL, it won't work.


A suggestion might be to play with your Mega Triangular Prims on another grid then use the SALT Hud in sl to see if someone created the right size of Mega Prim here and then use the path cuts and such to make what you want out of an existing Mega in SL.

The only thing you cant do with the Megas in SL is change size...but you can do a lot with cuts and stuff..
