How do you work out which rate to sell at if you'd like to get the most for your $L, but would like the sell to occur fairly quickly. Ie. Within 24 hours.

/confused at what to sell at today.

If I wanted to be quite sure of a trade today, I'd use 261. There's a pretty large block at 260, so there's no guarantee a new order would fill at that rate. It very well might, but I think you want to be pretty sure of selling within 24 hours.

If you haven't already, first make sure that you go to Lindex settings (should be on the left hand bar) and turn on advanced view since simple view hides a lot of useful information. When you go to the sell Lindex page you should be able to see the top open buy and sell orders, if you want to fill it close to instantly my suggestion is to take the highest current sell order and add 0.01 and put your sell in at that. If you want to go riskier you can just put it at the same price but especially if there's the huge linden block there you could be stuck with an order that won't fill.

You get more for you money if you buy Lindens thru SLX..at least in my experience.

What you need to check is not just what is the current highest sell order, but how much is there.

Currently at 261 there's less than half a million, Second Life gets through half a million very quickly. Below that at 260 there's 61 million, that won't shift in 24 hours.

Always remember that you can cancel a limit sell at no cost, so in the worst case scenario if you were about 10 minutes away from your deadline and it hadn't sold, cancel the order set it a just above the top rate, which in this case would be 262 and it would sell almost right away, even at 262 you'd get a better rate than with a market sell.

Obviously if you're looking to sell millions of Linden dollars it changes things a bit.

I started tracking Linden Sell orders graphically. You can watch the ebb and flow of L$ over the past two days on my website http://playprocyon.com/sl/statistics/lindex

Watching how the graph changes over a couple days will give you a feel for what the best price to sell L$ is and how long it will take at any given level.

Since when is there a 3.5% transaction fee for selling Lindens? Did they change the rules?
