So, in a new bout of exploring, I've figured out I enjoy walking down beaches. and exploring pretty coves etc. I've almost exhausted my existing LMs, and am going to attack search next, but I was wondering if any of you fabtastic peeps have discovered any nice beachy places. The sort of place I can walk fom one end to another then sit and think? I need a new hideaway lol.

funny you should ask, I have just made a cove and made a channel of water around the whole sim enough for small boats to sail around, but the terrain design is just starting, so the island is desolate. but if your interested in going somewhere nothing exists yet I'll post the SLurl.

Claire, not sure if you've already discovered this place yet: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Solomon%20Sea/117/183/21It's part of a group of sailing sims, - not too laggy, and it's so beautiful for taking a stroll

There are many nice beach areas all over SL. Usually if you go to a store that sits in it's own sim you'll find a nice beach area. I guess the store owner gets bored and decides to pretty up the area around the store. Saililng sims also have nice beach areas too and most are rezzable so you can get your boat out. And don't forget the corporate sims that just happen to have a well designed beach area. No one usually goes to those so you'll have it all to yourself.

It also has fireworks when the sun goes down in the default nighttime.

Caribe is nice, and (as you might assume from the name) very Caribbean in nature. There are little shanty stores dotted around, and a sand dune trek you can take. It's not quite a windswept bay, but it's nice to go to if you want a warm place to take off your shoes and wiggle your toes in the sand I did also find a spectacular beach months ago. It had a single circular bar and the most incredible views at sunset. Alas, I only took one screencapture of it (which did, I'm pretty sure, include the place name in the viewer at the time) but it's buried in the midst of thousands of SL pictures somewhere on my backup drive. I'll see if I can dig it out over the weekend for you.

From: June Oh Avoid Wild Coast its so laggy these days you will not walk smoothly. Love June agreed...used to love that place..but as with other nudist beaches , I assume to cover costs...they now have rentals, stores etc...same as SDI...(which admitedly isnt as laggy as Wild coast) BUT...i still enjoy both, just try not to move around much Currently I like Voluptia...things to do...romantic areas...even little gazebos in the sky with smewchy stuff...and noone ever seems to be there.

The sort of place I can walk fom one end to another then sit and think? I need a new hideaway lol. We have two lovely beaches in the West of Ireland that are a nice change from the usual tropical look. Bundoran Beach is modeled from a real life surfing beach in Ireland and have lovely pipeline and fluffy waves. Just to the east, is Neart Island which is in the style of the remote and windswept islands of the west and south coasts of Ireland. Neart is home to a huge EPIC wave and a lovely recreation of Newgrange, a neolithic site northwest of Dublin in RL. Which would you say are the top 2 or 3 nudist beaches? You know, the places which haven't lost their way yet?

Just shows how different we are. I used to go there because of the friendliness of people but we used chat and had a good time involving several people. Now I not like the 'silence' and ceased to visit.

Not trying to be funny here...
The McCain sim was beautiful and deserted...lovely beach and pier.
Not sure if it is still there, though.

I've created a "Beaches and Sand" telepack at wikitipi.com and set it to modable so you can all add locations. Click on the link below to load the pack into your wikiTiPi HUD: http://www.wikitipi.com/cgi-bin/wikipack.cgi?26
