A big THANK YOU to Astry Mirabeau of Digital Knickers!! I purchased an outfit there a year ago which holds very sentimental meaning to me. Since it is something I no longer wear often, I packed it in my home archive trunk. After three dresses wouldn't even rez out of their boxes recently, I took this one out last night and was HUGELY relieved when it rezzed and copied into inventory.
And heartsick when the outfit wouldn't go on my avatar.
(Interesting sidenote here - I packed the outfit away complete with shoes and other accessories that I wore with it. Those items that remained in my regular inventory as well, although not attaching from the packed box, worked fine from their regular inventory folders. I LOVED being able to store items to keep my inventory down...but it's starting to look like SL is eating packed away items for some reason.)
Anyway, I went to Digital Knickers last night to find the outfit again and repurchase if necessary. I sent a notecard explaining the situation to Astry, but after a year PLUS this outfit being no transfer so I couldn't even send it back to prove I purchased it, could understand not getting a replacement. My heart plummeted further when this outfit was no longer on display.
HOWEVER, just now I received a wonderful IM and new outfit from Digital Knickers. WOOT!!!!!!

that's wonderful.
if it helps, you can always take a "print screen" of your inventory list, making sure it shows your ava with name in the picture, and upload the texture to give to someone as proof.
just in case that happens again... *wink*

I just found this store the other day!!! One of my purchases didn't go through and she got back to me promptly the next morning with my delivery. She does rock!  She makes some fabulous stuff!!

Digital Knickers does have some great products. I bought an outfit there a while back to shock some friends who were used to seeing me in jeans and tee all the time. It did open their eyes On the Kudos theme: I bought a nomod shape from ALady when I first came to SL. A year down the line I found myself in a situation where I had to wear a skirt. Cue nervous breakdown: Skirts, pants, texture-matching on avatar bums.... When I went back to ALady, there was no sign of my shape (nor, more importantly, a skirt variation). I dropped a notecard on Tracey Sassoon asking about the shape and mentioning my skirt crisis. By return, she dropped me a folder with the entire range of heights, busts, bums, etc for the shape name.
