Since the implementation of the new engine some few weeks ago, I have several items that just wont Rez. I have about a dozen project objects that wont rez. Does not matter when or where, I try to drag them out of my inventory but, nothing. I havn't figured out any commonality to it, it effects new and old builds, single and mutiple objects, scripted and unscrippted. So I don't have a clue what is causing it. Is there a work around? Are these items just lost to me?
Help.

Do you get any kind of mini pop-up telling you why, or just that chika-chika sound but nothing appearing?

OK, here's an anecdote: A friend of mine had the same problem this week while I was standing there - the object was an older piece of unscripted furniture, would not rez, we were at ~600m. Other things had been rezzing fine. On a whim, he rezzed a regular box, flattened it to be big enough for the piece of furniture, and rezzed it just fine on top of that. He deleted the box and it stayed. (oh, and we were not on a megaprim surface - in fact, there were no megaprims anywhere around.)
We didn't experiment further, thinking it might be just local borkitude. *shrugs* Can't hurt to try. .

Apart from trying to rez it somewhere else, I don't know. I've lost the ability to rez a few things recently, but I got the 'missing in database' pop-up. I hear clearing cache isn't helpful in that case, so I'm just waiting a while to see if they come back... but they're not very important items for me. Every time I've had problems with rezzing stuff in the past with no pop-up, they rezzed for me elsewhere. Sorry, not helping much..

This sounds an awful lot like a problem that I have had the last couple of days. I contacted Live Help last night, a Linden came to look, but couldn't make any headway, and had me create a technical ticket so they could escalate it to the engineers. Here's what I said on the ticket:
I am having a really, really odd problem trying to rez something; a problem I've not encountered before. I have 2 no-copy/no-mod items (2 bookcases) that I've had in a storage prim for a while. Last night I moved them back to my inventory, then tried to rez them. They disappeared from my inventory, never appeared in-world, then reappeared in my inventory. I didn't get an error of any kind; it was like they "bounced" back into my inventory when I tried to rez them. Same thing tonight. I've tried rezzing them at high altitude, at ground level, on prims, on standard ground, on my land, on other's land, in a sandbox, and in no-script areas. Nothing works. I can pass the items to another person. When they try to rez the item, the exact same thing happens... it "bounces" back to their inventory. Frankly, I'm stumped. At least it's not the dreaded "object missing from database" situation...
When I passed the item to [xxxxxx] Linden who came to check, the same thing happened to them. Right now, more than anything, my curiosity is up, and I'd really like to know the reason that caused this, whether or not they are restored to "working order". Because right now, the only thing I can do with them is play a demented kind of yo-yo...

From: Jake Black I dont know what the actual answer is.. I just know LLs response was at best...flaccid. From: Solomon Devoix That's a very good way to put it, and now I know why we still haven't seen the promised blog entry...
...the Lindens are still waiting for their shipment of Lie-agra to come in to firm up their flaccid reasoning.

I am having exactly the same problem with many of the objects in my inventory. When I try to rez copy-enabled objects, nothing happens. When I try with a no-copy object, it disappears from the inventory for a fraction of a second then pops back in. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. It's very worrisome -- a number of these are objects I really want to use, and I'm wondering what percent of my inventory is affected. It doesn't make sense. I have a set of no-copy trees I bought a while ago. Some of them will rez and some won't. What the .... is going on?!

I have created a JIRA issue about this problem: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2207 If you want to comment or vote on it, go to JIRA and login.
