Wait, didn't that "..." thing mean it was a bot, in a past thread? Maybe someone will remember more.

Best defense against peepers is to rez a violently color changing bright glow artwork from Sabine.. and step inside it. If they aren't a Pixie, they will fall to the ground in convulsions pretty quickly.. ^_^
If they are Pixie, then you just start eating chocolate while inside the artwork, and they will go mad with desire, and become easy targets for shooting.. This message was approved by me, and brought by Koko, the Cadbury delight! ^_^ |

Why does everyone always want to stop the peepers? Geez, almost everything in SL that at first seems bad is often a chance for you to polish up some aspect of yourself. In the case of peepers, just practice your exhibitionist skills.

If you haven't gone into the Advanced Menu and turned on "Show look At" and "Show Point At" and you don't see the telltale crosshairs of the avatar camera focus, they may not be peeping at all. What makes you think they are peeping? They could just be trying to pick an elevation to build their own skybox, or they could be land bots.
Why must we always assume nefarious intent? And so what if it is? I think I'd just go about my business and ignore them. Don't become the victim they may want you to be. . _____________________

If it's a passive peeper who is far away I really wouldn't bother.

There has been an increase in these types of threads over the last couple weeks. Some are even started by users who are not what would normally be considered a "newbie". Surely those people know anyone can cam through walls.........which means privacy is nonexistant in SL. There is no way to stop someone from camming into your home or platform or anywhere you might call "your space" unless you purchase a private sim that is located somewhere on the grid that does not have another sim or estate closer than 512 meters. Anyone with a computer capable of running SL at high or ultra can disable camera constraints and cam out to their draw distance.............that's across two sims.
Get a grip..........go about you business and stop with the privacy stuff. It does not exist. |

I sometimes wonder why people spend such tremendous amount of money, time and effort in creating beautiful homes and then get their panties in a bunch if someone dares to look at it.
Aren't such builds designed to be admired? Yes, I can imagine someone wants to be the only one that gets to see their pretty house but that gets old after a while. It's like playing king of the castle all by yourself. Chances are passersby are looking at the home, maybe the texturing or the way it's built, or some other facet, rather than camming inside to admire your latest Gurl6 acquisition or to see if you're busy on a poseball. Perhaps some of these privacy freaks are taking themselves just a bit too seriously. _____________________

The OP did say 'just outside his parcel', don't think that would bother me, long as their nose wasn't pressed to my window, and they were'nt jiggling my SL doorknob. _____________________
