Its that time of year again, time for the dead to roam the world and witches and werewolves to party in garish particle infested clubs!

Its my favorite holiday of the year, so I ask you, where is the spookiest sim you've seen? The scariest haunted house or forest? Who sells the best Halloween decorations?

I visited a sim this morning, I can't remember the name, it was a dark scary forest, the best I've seen, I'll update the URL here as soon as I can. (I'm at work right now and can't check)

You probably saw Bentham manor.

There is also a sim called Halloween, and it has a freebie hunt on it.

I have a small Halloween carnival - it isn't quite where I want it yet but I add to it all the time. Just search with the words Halloween carnival. You'll find it.

I have a cottage that decorates itself for halloween :-) It will do the same for Christmas too.

I don't know that name of the sim, but if you look up Haunted House in all search. You will find one that says best ride ever.. and it really is good. It is a sit down ride (about 15 minutes) best in mouselook.

Sadly under the new rules, content that depicts anything scary happening to an avatar is forbidden except on Zindra (or on private Adult-rated sims). Not allowed on PG or Mature sims.

I went on one of the haunted houses a few days ago, not sure which one, but was really good and a long ride. Found it just by doing search on halloween. It went through different sceneries including graveyards and even jurassic park. Not sure which of the above listed it was.

We spent an evening looking around at halloween stuff and it was the best we found ... so far.

I have a halloween shop where you walk through a spooky wood first through to the shop.

I think would have to be very gory to have to move to Zindra, there is plenty of halloween content on mature sims. As far as I see, Zindra is for the overt sex and things that could offend, halloween even kids celebrate.

"Representations of intensely violent acts, whether or not photo-realistic (for example, depicting death, torture, dismemberment or other severe bodily harm)."

Kids do lots of things that are not allowed on SL. By the way, I see we're now all acknowledging that SL is for young children...

My carnival is on a smallish plot (about 8000 meters, I'm really not sure offhand) and it's on PG land. So I took care not to install anything too scary, gory, etc. there. It's mean to be fun and a bit of a laugh. You can win things in the games - I've changed them out so the prizes (except in the duck game, but probably that one too, soon) are Halloween-themed. The pumpkin shy game has original prizes in it.

Attica Bekkers has been very generous in supplying some of the games and prizes; she has a stall at Burning Life too. Tell her hi and thanks. :)

If you want a couple of fairground rides, plenty of games and refreshments, a carousel (I modified the merry go round tutorial and Lizz Silverstar added some animations to the animals) and a corn field maze, and assorted other things, stop on by.

Those are extreme things you have picked. The majority of halloween stuff is not gory or violent.

Who has acknowledged SL is for young children? I only said even young children celebrate halloween, not that we are.

The SLURL is in Lord Sullivan's post (#5 above). It's a good build, with some traditional haunted house elements and some creative surprises. You ride in sofa chairs, much like the ones at Disneyland's haunted house ride.

I went there yesterday with a group and it took more like 45 minutes, maybe because of how many riders there were. It was really fun!

I've been underwhelmed by the majority of SL Halloween "Haunted Houses".

However, one attraction that really stood out (for me) from last year was this haunted train station. It just did a really good job setting an atmosphere that was creepy. Unfortunately, I can't find it again this year...

Bentham forest.

If you haven't been there yet, grab some friends, set your sun to midnight, turn up the sounds and equip your avatar with a flashlight.

You'll have hours of creepy fun exploring this INCREDIBLE forest.

Anyone know what happened to Devil's Labyrinth?

lol, Malia...we clocked it at 50 minutes! It didn't seem to be very crowded, either. :D

There's a neat zombie place on Blood Lust where you can fight zombies. I assume it is still there. It is neat.

I don't know about houses, but inventory is definitely haunted. Every time I open my Textures folder there is an eerie scream from an asset server beyond the grave. Not to mention that my Shoes folder is covered in cobwebs and a big sign that says "Keep Out."

The name was Trepid Station. I don't know if it's back this year, but it was a lot of fun last year.

I have a rather cheesy haunted houseboat on my land, but it's more like the local Jaycees production than some of the more professional productions that are out there... (If anyone does care to see it, it's the first tab in my profile picks.)

I enjoyed the large Halloween ride that others mentioned. Also, Liome Asylum just opened this past weekend in the city of Liome.
