I was out shopping with a friend and we visited a couple of very nice shops, and I can't remember the name of the one. It had tons and tons of womens clothes at great prices, looked like a big department store, offered all kinds of clothes, dress clothes, lingerie...boy this is gonna be tons of help I know ^^

I wanna say it started with an A but I don't think that's right. It was one of the nicer stores I have been to though. So I was wonder if you could help me come up with a small list of great places to shop, maybe it will come up. Until then, I will keep searching!

Did you buy anything in that shop? If so, inspect the piece of clothing and look up the creator.

If not, I am afraid that you'll have to go shopping again to find it. ;)

Offhand, Armidi and X2 come to mind ... also there are Wiccan Sojourner's creation. But there are tons of other excellent clothes designers. I am sure you will get lots of references.

Did you buy anything there? If so you can look in the edit menu of the item, to see who created it and you can search for the owner, who will probably have a LM to their shop in their profile. There also may be a LM in the item folder. But I'll take a guess, Was it Awesome Designs maybe?

Starts with an A and looks like a department store? Try Awesome Designs or Adored Clothing. Adored does have a classy feel to it.

Since you mention "great prices" and "big store", I think about Bare Rose.

They Do not start with an A but Indyra and Innovations are two of my favorite places to shop.

Think of one thing you saw and try to describe it. Maybe a display or an outfit you liked. Any point of detail at all. Do you remember the color of the floor? Did it have multiple levels? When you teleported in, did you arrive inside the store or outside? With a few tiny curmbs of information like that we may collectively find an answer.

sort of on topic
but

am I the only one that likes to shop at the lesser known but good designer places?

I avoid classifieds and just kinda roam the grid, and end up finding some nice little stores in the middle of no where

the nice thing about the lesser known is I have a better chance at getting an outfit that is not being worn by every other female I run into

:)

Or I just make my own and never put it up for sale, making it truly unique (hell even some stuff I have for sale have not sold yet, so they are not being worn by anyone else out there)

so yeah um...

good luck finding the store

I do the same. I get most of my info from the New products forum, and just wander around. I never used classifieds, or search much. I found a lot of places just by flying in my helicopter and landing, or crashing, in a random place.

I'm with you and Brenda on this. Definitely prefer smaller, exquisite shops. For one thing, I get sensory overload when I go into any of the mega-stores. - too much to see!!

And also enjoy getting clothes that are a bit more unique. :)

I find shopping for my dolphin avatar almost impossible. All I need is a bow tie that can be modified. :(

Oh sure. Torture us with talk about exquisite shops, but don't tell us what any of them are!

Czari &/or Brenda, would you be willing to take some forum folks on an outing looking at a few kewl shops sometime? I have a couple of favorites myself too ... That might help to spread the word, without having to let the immediate world in on your favorite finds ...

If time permits sure. At the very least I can throw together a notecard with some favorites and can send it out to whoever may want. Just be warned, Hip and Trendy I'm not.

/me laughs

Well, Pleasure Ashbourne did pick a fitting title. Shopping!! Woohoo!

I seldom use search unless I am looking for something specific, like looking for an update to JoeBobs widget-O-Matic. Most of the shops I keep land marks to are ones I found by inspecting someone elses clothes. I have some beautiful gowns I have paid 200 L$ or less for. I also have some I paid over 1000. Why pay 1000 L$ for a gown from Innovations? Because it is worth it!

Unfortunately I did not see anything that looked familiar yet. :(

I did not buy anything from the store, I'm aware how to see who made it though. The store mainly deals in women's clothes, a majority of the store is outfits with a smaller selection for lingerie. All the prices were very reasonable. Grrr....trying to think....

Inside was warmer colors. Awesome Designs sounds familiar, but I do not think its it. I will check later on, but I can almost guarantee it's not. I'll continue searching.

Thanks for all the help so far though ^^

Edit** I know it's not Awesome Designs, but it is very similar to it.

Most of them I literally stumble on and then forget where they were again...lol. But I'll put a notecard together as well...and a shopping outing sounds like fun *smiles*

Off the top of my head, I HIGHLY recommend Industrielle (I think that is how it is spelled...it is in my picks). One part of the shop is trendy and the other leans toward more professional and/or vintage clothing. Great shoes there as well.

Great I'm looking forward to it.

The shop I'm thinking of was more professional, had some night club stuff and what not.

did you buy from ANYONE on the same or neighboring sim. if you can narrow it down to the sim through your transaction history, you might be able to fly around until you find it.

Women's shopping....

Lately I only buy clothes that I see on someone else and just HAVE to have. A lot of times the clothes look great on the picture then you buyand it just doesn't look the same. I also check the forum new releases and the online fashion reviews. If I see something there I'm really blown away by and know its a good store I buy. Also SLEX, if something looks great and its also gotten good ratings I'll buy too.

I have never been in a situation where I and anyone else were wearing the same outfit in SL. Maybe they spotted me and quickly changed . . not sure :)

I did try to find if there were any "limited edition" things out there, because I liked the idea of the limited edition wigs at Gurl6. Never really found anything. Only other thing I spotted was skin on OnRez that was stated as "September only" or something like that, and when I went to the store, I saw it for sale in December.
