Script or HUD for Removing Clothes?

Okay, this may seem like a very silly question, but I'm hoping to get some good feedback here.

HOW do people change entire outfits easily?

I keep folders of various outfits, and I would like to simply be able to "Add to Outfit", but it doesn't work well if I have a "Jacket" on, and I just want a shirt on. I have to physically take off the Jacket manually.

If I "Replace Outfit", it works great, BUT then I have to go to my HUD folder, and ADD them all back to the outfit. The "Replace" option strips away my HUD attachements, and any other Attached things (like shoes, and jewelry, etc.) I'd rather not have to reload my HUDS because my AO takes a little while to load each time, etc.

What would be AWESOME is a HUD, even if it was a single button that could run a script to strip myself of ALL CLOTHES except me bottom underwear! This way, I could simply hit my "strip" button, and I'd be standing there in my boxers, and then I could go to the folder and "Add to outfit" and everything would be peachy.

Is there an easier way to simply replace an outfit? Basically just to replace "clothing" items? I wish the "Replace Outfit" option JUST did clothing and not HUDS and attachments.

Please help me here....

Thanks

Yes, that would indeed be nice. No, it's not possible to do with LSL scripts. Sorry.

Hmmm. Don't know of a simple method that wouldn't also mean reloading your HUD and other attachments. :(

Well, I'm getting the message that there's no easy way to just strip to your underwear, and then use a folder to "Add to Outfit".

Bummer.

What are some of the methods people use?

Is the easiest simply "Replacing outfit" and then having a HUD and Attachment folder to "Add to Outfit"?

I guess two steps isn't a big deal if your HUDS load fast...

The way I do this is to have a set of totaly transparent clothing parts.

I then add transparent parts to the outfit folder for any cloths not used in the outfit.
Then I use add to outfit.

So in your example the Jacket would be replaced by a transparent Jacket and only the shirt would be visible.

You could do it with RLV. It's possible to lock attachments and pieces of clothing, so a 'remove all' takes off everything else apart from the locked items. There are clothing managers that attach as HUDs so you don't need to walk in a collar (unless you really want to).

One thing is to type in ";(worn)" in the search bar at the top of the inventory screen. Then you can quickly find that left over jacket and right click and remove it.

Some 3rd party viewers, including Emerald, have a tab that lists your worn items so you do not need to do the search trick. If I am at some place and need to change quickly - like putting on swim suit for a little while and then swap back - I do the old "Add to Outfit" from a folder thing. Then I go to worn items and "Take Off Items" on a folder that needs to come off.

But since I will usually wear the bodice of one dress as a top, pants from a differnt outfit, boots to match the pants, manicure, earrings (that no one can really see) maybe stockings or possibly tattoos ... all from different places ... I usually put everything on first from the different places and then go to my worn items tab and remove any leftover pieces. You can do the same by using the (worn) search term as well.

You can make a folder that contains skin, hair, eyes, shape, underwear, and HUD, AO etc... in other words, "you in your underwear".

Use that folder for a replace all, then add whatever new clothes you wanna wear.

*bump on combination of the two*

It would probably require a custom (still rather trivial) script, but you could have RLV force-strip your avie and then force-dress a shared folder that contains your "starting" outfit (ie boxers in your case).

Get the script to trigger on chat and you can even make a gesture out of it to trigger on a key combination which would even remove needing it as a HUD (which tends to be crowded enough as it is).

To remove all your clothes at once you can go into edit at the top of your screen, then take off clothing, then all clothes, this will leave your HUDs and hair on but also any prim clothing you may be wearing.

I like this idea. This might be a dumb question, but where can I get a set of totaly transparent clothing parts?

Make them is the easy and free way.
Right click in a folder where you want the clothing item to go then hit New Clothes > New Shirt - or whatever part you want. You can rename it if you want, and you probably will.

To make it transparent, wear it, then right click your avatar and Edit Appearance. Se1ect the clothing layer you want to edit from the buttons. The apply the texture "default transparent"; it is in your library so everyone already has it. Save and your done.

I generally only use copyable body parts, attachments, huds, clothing which makes life soooo much easier.
