I was reading through some of the old forum posts - ran across a post about a messenger for SL - which pleased me to no end, because I often get emails with my IM's from in game during my day at work from friends online and wish I could somehow answer them, so I downloaded the messenger on the computer here at work, now my question is, does anyone know how to find out if my chats are being logged somewhere on the computer? I do NOT want this happening on a work computer! Any help would be appreciated. And if you are wondering which download I used it is: http://www.gnomiverse.com/confirmslm.phpDoes anyone reading this use this?

You can just reply to the email. It is not instant but it gets there as fast as any other email.
[ETA] I am not experienced with that particular software but I can say that there is a chat log somewhere. If it is turned on by default or not would just be a guess for me.

Did you realize that you can simply reply to the email you receive it it goes back to the person in-world? I keep in touch with people all day from my blackberry.
The only catch is that they have to IM you first.

And if hiding this at work is a problem, any time you boot up on the network there is a very high chance that your IT department is taking inventory. At a minimum, it will be anything that shows up in Add/Remove Programs. I doubt seriously that anyone is looking through the data by hand, but if they start wondering why they are getting all this traffic through non-standard ports they just might start.
/me shrugs.
When dealing with any form of electronic communication, paranoia is is usually well founded.
