What's the time frame for Deleting and Rerolling an ALT?

After deleting an ALT, how long does it take for the ALT to be purged from your account totals before you can sign up for a new ALT?

I have 6 ALT's right now. Which is the maximum allowed (they didn't change this, did they?).

Last year I tried to delete one of them to use another name (which is now a retired name with nobody else using it! DOH!) . But it wouldn't allow me. So I recovered the ALT's name and left it alone.

But I'd still like to eventually change his name.

So should I delete him now to give it time to purge and wait for the name I want? Or is there a way I can force a purge when the time comes that I find a name I want (like by calling customer service)?

This is an unclear area, because it's haphazardly enforced.

From what I understand (which might be completely wrong now), even if you delete an account, that "slot" is still taken.

However, you should be able to have more accounts if you use a different payment type or email account.

So they use the payment type and email account to verify you instead of your billing address? Interesting.

I'm not sure that I really want nor need 12+ ALT's though. I'm not making a bot farm.

At first I was just trying to sort out some groups. Then a couple of them became alternate personalities. That's when I started looking for better names to fit their personalities. Which lead me to this issue.

I have one or maybe two ALTs that I'd sacrifice to get different names. But only if I can get new names.

Otherwise they aren't bad names. And it's not like they are all lower or UPPER case names or contain Numbers001. They just aren't perfect for the roles I'd like them to play.

Some people have hundreds of alts for their traffic bot services. You just need a different e-mail address after 5 alts (and that might not even be enforced anymore). Thats it.

They lifted that restriction some time ago.

I have 4 accounts that actually get logged on - 1 main and 3 others used for different types of permission tests and/or pose ball adjustments. However, simply because I liked the names, I have created another 6 (3 have never logged in, 2 logged in once, and the other logged in twice).

Only the initial 4 have any payment info on them -- all the same Paypal account -- however all 10 have their own individual email address.
