Been working on some clothes and I'd like to take a shot at selling in SL for the first time. Once I'm ready (not yet), I will want to rent a shop and put my clohtes up so ppl can see/click and buy them.
I noticed these are nestled in nice picture frames and also in square boxes.
My question is....what are those called and where do I get them? (the frames and/or boxes that would show a picture of what im selling and allow shoppers to click/buy)
Can I get one of each and just copy them for each of the clothes or do I have to buy one for each item I'm selling?
Are there any tutorials out there that talk more about them in detail? (setting them up, displaying them, etc...)
Thanks in advanced for anyone that can lead me in the right direction..

Boxes and 'posters' are just prims created from the Build window with texture images of your product applied...you can set them to sell a copy of the contents via Edit. The 'frames' may be a scripted vendor system; I'm not sure from your description. Check SL Exchange and OnRez for options.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Yep, you can easily make this yourself using the options to sell the box or its contents. Loads of tutorials here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Creation_Portal See this one in particular "How to open and sell boxes" http://youtube.com/watch?v=hQoaQzuqqkY

As everyone has said, simple vendors are simply a prim with the contents of what you want to sell inside - a texture/photo of the product on the prim - and correct permissions set. Some have a simple "give contents" script inside. I make all mine. There are several classes taught on this - one that is even called "Making a simple vendor." Another class/school I attended went through all the different types of vendors from the 1-prim homemade to reputable free ones available with more functions, to the more expensive (but probably not needed now from what you describe) vendors like Hippo that can be networked together. But for your needs, a real simple one would be the way to go I think. If you need any help, IM me in world and I will show you what I have.
