I can not teleport between sims since the upgrade released in Dec 2007. There is NO WAY to contact tech support if you have a free account, so you are screwed if you have this problem. Recently, they posted that they had 'fixed' this problem. NOT. You can only get tech support if you pay for it. Second Life is otherwise a piece of cr*p.

Perhaps you should be glad you get to use this world at all, without putting any cash in to support it. I can't log in anywhere for more than five minutes at the moment, but at least I am not screaming "Poor me, I can't have everything without paying". Try logging out and logging into the region where you want to go, like I have to.

Victoria - there is a messy way around this for when you absolutely have to be somewhere and can't TP ::
1. Figure out the region name and xyz of where you want to go (from the search menu, or a friend that's already there can tell you)
2. Go into Preferences, General and check the "show start location on login" box.
3. Logout
4. Restart SL, and under your avatar name, there will be a dropdown menu for "start location", change it to "<type region name">"
5. Type the region name and xyz coords into this box - i.e. Allana/129/36/5
6. Login
When you rez inworld, you'll be at the new location - a pain in the ass I know, but it works.......

Remove all huds and see if that helps.

i'm actually teleporting and my prims are not coming off and the ports seem to work more than usual today..
i keep waiting for the prim clump butt but they are all in place on each port..life is good again ahhhhh
