Today I saw an avatar whose name appeared in red on my Emerald client, followed by (LGG Proxy). I did a quick search on google and found this has something to do with copybot or something called a "cryolife client", no idea what that is though. He was wondering around in a store I was working at. Does anyone know what this LGG Proxy or Cryolife is? And should I bother reporting him? I took a screenshot.

Ah, you must be using Emerald. Emerald is telling you that that avatar is using the "LGG Proxy" 3rd party viewer, widely suspected of being a front for "Cryolife", a different 3rd party viewer that has been linked to content theft.

I don't think you can AR an avatar for using this viewer, tho I would be tempted to. Personally, I WOULD, however, let the sim owner know. They can take steps.

Thanks. I only got curious because it was a shop I actually cared about lol.

I was ASKING what the LGG Proxy is, and whether or not I should report since it had something to do with copybot. Did you have to sound so snobby with that comment? I don't think so.

and the reasoning is that some of the same code is used in both (and emerald for that matter, but SHH it's a secret)... because some of the people that wrote bits for cryo also wrote for other projects (or at least are reported to have, it's hard to say with legit open source libraries being passed around)...

Translation:
Probably meaningless, but who knows. truth is it's easy to fake the tag, which means the user is either legit, or stupid... either is likely

PAR/LGG Proxy is dead. Every last bit of it is in emerald now, and the developer joined the emerald team.

So if you think LGG Proxy is bad and reportable, then you need to start reporting every emerald user as well. </sarcasm>

Here is some more tags for you:

Actually it is a little sad that people think PAR is bad now. PAR combined with PSL is essentially Emerald. I would say about 75% of Emeralds features actually came from PAR.

It's what everyone was using before emerald came along. It had all the neat IM features, double click to TP and etc that you all love in emerald. Was really fun because you felt quite special using it, no other clients had the capabilities you had.

Sigh..more content theft paranoia. Greed is wrecking this place.
