Hi, Sorry if I've got the wrong place for this and for barging in on your community but I'm looking for a woman based in the UK who is in an SL relationship, to interview for Psychologies magazine. The idea is to look, with an open mind, at all the different ways our loves lives take shape nowadays, from women who choose to be celibate to those in polyamorous relationships or those online and talk about why each choice is right for that person. I was hoping somebody reading this will either be interested in being interviewed or might know where I should go in SL or within the forums to contact people who might be. The interview would need to be done before Christmas, but could be done over the phone and the photo shoot will take place in January of next year - it's a lovely day with a make-up artist, clothes and hair stylist and a nice lunch thrown in. I can guarantee the interviewee will be treated with respect and the magazine is known for its open-minded approach. I think this would be a great opportunity to explain a little more about how online relationships work and what you get from them that perhaps you don't in RL or how they allow you to create real intimacy with a partner. If you think you can help or have questions about the piece please email me at lauradeeley@gmail.com or call me on 07917 500320. Many thanks, Laura Deeley

/me looks suspicious and asks what's in it for the woman? Apart from a makeover that is.
(Which isn't denoting interest)

/me sighs, the OP once again demonstrating that only the female pov regarding relationships is to be considered relevant.
Pep ('Psychologies' "claims" not to be a woman's magazine . . .)

Good luck in your quest, Laura. I wonder if you'll get any takers, though... anonymity is pretty priceless here in SL. I can't imagine that a typical SL user would care to have her face, name, and associated avatar splashed all over the magazine, especially considering the sensationalist stuff about SL that's been in previous UK publications. At any rate, best of luck!

/me looks at the anonymous nature of the both the mobile phone number and the email address, and has serious reservations about the OP's genuineness.
Some magazines use people (non-employees) who are paid for articles, but it would be perfectly possible to check on the person with the magazine itself, and information to do exactly that should be provided before I would be satisfied that it's all above board.
Alright, mobiles aren't all anonymous but many are.

Alright, mobiles aren't all anonymous but many are. "Laura Deeley" is a regular contributor to Pychologies magazine. I know, my wife has a subscription. Which probably means that in a few months time I will get shown the article and given earache about "that stupid game" yet again . . . Pep (OK, the email and mobile numbers might be faked, but what are the probabilities?) PS Here is an example of her insight into sl . . . http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/body_and_soul/article1557980.ece

Pep (OK, the email and mobile numbers might be faked, but what are the probabilities?) I'm not saying that there is something untoward about the OP, but without a means of checking, it could be anyone.

Considering the membership windfall following past scandals, surely somebody could take one for the team on this. And forget "typical user": this needs somebody with an especially salacious SL.

How about a MtoF transgender that later finds out hir guy is a FtoM transgender. Big fight follows but in the end, love conquers all and they are a happy couple since they are both herms now.
What's the possibility something like that has happened ... this week?

Frosty, to answer your question the best place to meet them is in world. Search for "GB", "UK" and/or "England" for groups and places. Hangout in SL during the British prim time. (Noon to 4 SLT) and just talk to the people you meet. You will find many people in relationships of one form or another.

A male friend of mine just recently found out the woman he had been "seeing" in SL for months now was really a man. He is a little miffed right now....

From: Phil Deakins I'm not saying that there is something untoward about the OP, but without a means of checking, it could be anyone. A quick Google gave me the link to the magazine and info about her and her articles in it. Many folks are not automatically suspicious of the world and therefore do not think right away to give all sorts of info to validate themselves. ETA - of course, the OP may or may not really have anything to do with Laura and only way to prove that would be to contact her via the magazine.
