When I finish typing something to someone and hit "enter" my avatar nods her head...like she is agreeing with something. For the first few times this was cute but it is now bugging the heck out of me. Can anyone tell me how to "cure" this. I am so tired of people asking me if I am always this agreeable...lol

A lot of AO's have different typing animations - or no typing animations at all. Maybe a different AO would help.

You should be able to at least turn off 'playtypinganimations' in the debug settings under 'client' menu. If it's not embedded in your AO....then that should work. If it is the AO you're using....try another

That's the standard head nod animation from Linden Lab (LL). The only way that you can get rid of it is to either turn off typing altogther, or to replace the standard animations with ones that have a higher priority than the typing one.

If memory serves, when you begin a chat line with the forward slash "/", you will not only not get the typing animation and sound, but you will also not get the head nod at the finish. Until you find an AO that suits you, "/" is your friend.

My head does the same thing. I am wearing the AO's that I normally wear but this "head nodding" did not start until I set the typing animation to false.
It is very annoying as I am not this agreeable but.... |

The AO that I wear is what I have worn since I came here. I have the "play typing" thing turned to "False". The /after what I say does not help.
Oh well....I gues that I will just appear to be a very agreeable person here on SL....lol thanks any way  |

Maybe you can replace that particular animation in your AO. Abraminations uses higher priority animations - my AO has no typing animation at all. It's completely preempted by the AO. If your AO is modifiable, then you can drop a different animation in there and that should work. Most places have a pose stand that lets you test the animations before you buy, so you can see if it gets rid of the head nod.
try the "/" before you say something, not after. _____________________

oh...
that's not head nodding. that's 'talking.' since the mouth/jaw of the avatar isnt animated, the process of flapping your gums is represented by that head motion. if you look REAL close, it's kinda crooked nodding, not up and down. more like head wagging, really. really. no, really. didn't help, huh? OH OH OH! i know! go to racerx gullwing's place and pick up the robot chicken mouth. make sure you get the normal sized one, not the giant snail one. wear that. now, when you type, you play the typing animation, and when the words come out, your head waggles and these huge cartoon lips do a sorta synchronized 'talking.' people will be staring at your lips so hard, they wont notice any nodding. im SERIOUS! |

What's really a shame is that there is also a silly little animation for whispering built into the viewer, but they don't give us a whisper button to use it

Actually, the mouth IS animated, or can be. If you use voice, try activating Advanced/Character/Lip Sync (Beta). It's really pretty good. Now, if the folks who make typing overrides would make one that uses these mouth movements, instead of making me wave my hands like a lunatic... _____________________
