Hi, I was just wondering if its at all possible to know if someone is zooming their camera onto you, or following you about with it? Curiosity is getting the better of me lol.

There is an option in the Advanced menu to "show mouselook crosshairs" or something like that. You'll get a little red plus sign wherever anyone else is looking with their camera, if you have that on. Sort of like having a laser gunsight pointed at you.

You can turn on 'show look at' - I think that is what it is called. It is under the Client/Advanced menu, under Character, I think. This will show cross-hairs for what the folks around you are looking at. If one or more are on you, then someone has their camera centered on you.

It's in Advanced >> Character >> Show Look At. It doesn't work in the 1.20.xx client but it behaves like Ceera describes in 1.19.xx. The only think is that it will only tell you IF someone is camming on you, not who it is. I don't think there's a reliable way to find out who. (^_^)y

Yeah but wasnt the song on Synchronicity?

Wow I wonder if I want to know if someone is watching. That might make me paranoid LOL.

Sometimes in group events I look at the avs of other attendees and the details on the attachments and textures. I dont think I want people to know that or get the wrong or right idea.

Yeah, it was I think. But hey, the ascii art for THAT woudl have been a real pain. :p

I don't care if people look or not. I got accustomed to the idea of a complete and utter lack of privacy in SL from almost the first week. It's a nice illusion, and I'll stick with it.

... but boy, do I get freaked out when I think someone might catch me looking! O.o

You can cam without causing the "Show Look At" to change so lack of crosshairs doesn't really mean noone is looking right at you, it just means it's not likely that someone is. Someone could be standing on the NW corner of a sim and have a look-at crosshair right in front of them while their cam is actually looking at you on the SE corner.

And remember that the regular cam has a spherical range of 50m so if there's a crosshair within 50m of you they could be looking at you even if they're focused elsewhere.

More fun facts about LookAt:

* A client doesn't necessarily send them (decent way to tell whether someone's using a full-fledged viewer if they don't have a LookAt target, or one could use an add-on to avoid sending them)
* A client can send as many as they want (see example lol http://www.flickr.com/photos/day-oh/2060395940/)
* The message does tell whose LookAt it is, because it's intended use is for moving their head--a viewer add-on could tell you which LookAt targets belong to whom
