Is there a way to have an item pay X% to group when paid? I know you can deed it but that pays the whole amount I do believe and I only would like to pay a % of what was paid.

Thanks

Try this as a work-around. Deed it to a group. Pay it. Have it then compute a percentage (say if you want the group to get 5%, then you get 95%, right? So compute 95% of what it was paid), and use llGiveMoney to pay that percentage to your avatar via your uuid. I haven't tried this with group deeded items but I would guess it would serve to do what you want to do.

OK, As I just found out, Group deeded items can not give money, so deeding it to the group wont work. :o(

Groups can't BE paid, either. SL keeps money simple - it all belongs to individual avatars. Objects can't have money, groups can't have money, parcels can't have money, etc. only avatars can have money.

Group-deeded objects can't give money because they don't have a single named avatar from which to draw they money they'd give. On the other hand, if you can maintain a list of group members within your script you can work out what is owed to each avatar and llGiveMoney() to each of them individually as required.

Not totally true. There was a bug that allowed our group's search fee to just accumulate into the negative for many weeks. I wanted to clear that as I was not sure what sort of an issue it might be for the group if it stayed negative and I also did not want the members to get hit with a large fee when it finally got fixed by LL. I created an object, deeded it to the group, set it for sale, and then bought it. The money then went to the group and cleared the negative balance.
