Skin Make-up problem

I just purchased a new skin yesterday and it was fine and looked good on my avatar, now today the skin looks like a kid has done the makeup and it has a clown effect on the face.
The lipstick shows as a straight line in the centre of the lips and the eye shadow has lost all shading and is a solid color.
I have had this issue with other skins in the past and it does not effect all skins.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this or if it is a common bug with the current viewers, i have tried it on both Kirstens and the standard SL viewer and am having the same problem

Wow....that sounds like a texture rendering graphics issue. It isn't the SKIN....it's something either in your system, or server side that is causing this glitch. Can you post snapshots so we have a better idea?

I'm thinking it might be that the textures aren't loading entirely, and often there's this blurry smudgy clown effect until the skins fully load. But, without seeing pictures, can't be sure. Some skin creators use larger files when they upload.....and even tho SL will convert everything to 512x512......the compressed larger image is going to take longer to load/bake (could be the reason you're having a problem with some skins) But again....pictures would really help. ;)

There were reports that they changed the stacking order in skins in the beta client so the system makeup layer is on top and produced the clown makeup. There was a jira about it but my memory fails me...

download the latest stable viewer and that will go away. its an 'improvement' introduced in the beta client that ll hopefully has the good sense not to take to the release.

put on another skin then put that one back on..i had this happen a couple times and that seemed to do the trick..

You could probably play with the makeup sliders and just turn them all off.
