Computer down/ Can send one im someone in SL for me

My laptop is being serviced and my desktop won't handle SL.

Slack, how can she use Zonkster if she can't get into SL to get her code?

You only need the code to send a verified message, it'll still get through without one but the message will show as not verified.

Tessa - you can also use Ajaxlife.net - a web-based, non-graphical way to get online and communicate with your friends. Most computers should be able to run it.
I'd also be happy to pass the message on if you wish to post it here..........

True - and that's certainly a concern for many people....

Not to mention being against the SL Terms of Service, if you read them literally.

A great many people have used Ajax Life with no problems at all. If anyone has one single example of Ajax Life abusing the trust of anyone then state it here. Katherine has done an excellent job and devoted a great deal of personal time to a project without any thought of compensation. LL has lauded the work she has done. She was able to do what no one else was able to do including the lab. Not bad at all for a girl who was only 15 years old at the time.

So put up or shut up and don't besmirch anyone's reputation or cast doubt without evidence.

I'm sure that many people have used Ajax life with no problems and no abuse of trust.
That wasn't the issue that was addressed. A very important aspect of being a part of the SL community is following the terms of service that is set forth when our accounts are created. We all agreed to those terms.

Sharing account information with a third party is not endorsed by Linden Labs. It is a legitimate reason to have your account cancelled. This isn't a case of put up or shut up. Nobody is besmirching the reputation of whoever created the service that you are defending. The only concern brought up is TOS and our responsibility as residents.

To the OP. Zonkster is great! I've used it in those cases when I'm unable to logon to SL but I wanted a message to get through to a friend who is online at the time. You don't need a verification code any longer. Your message will go through with a notation that the sender is not verified. Your friends know who you are!

You won't get me having a problem with Ajax Life because I'm not going to use it or anything else that requires me sending my SL password to a third party. Same reason I have a separate bank account for my Paypal, which never has more than minimum balance in it unless I'm actually transferring money to Paypal. Same reason I keep my USD balance in SL high enough to pay my tier and account fees. Same reason I don't give my kids my bank card to go down to the grocery store. Same reason I don't enter my email account name and password into LinkedIn or Twitter or any of the other social networking services that want to scan my address book.

Katherine may be a veritable saint, but this isn't about Katherine. This isn't about anyone's reputation. I have no reason to believe that Katherine or Ajax Life is a front for phishers or anything else you think I'm saying here, because I'm not saying any such thing.

This is basic personal information security. It's a bad habit to get into, tossing passwords around like that.

If my bank asks me "did you give your bank card to anyone" when I call them to contest a charge on my account, I want to be able to say "no" with a clear conscience. Even more... if Linden Labs asks me "did you give your password to anyone" when I call them to contest something in SL, I want to be able to say "no" with a clear conscience. Because I'm pretty sure my bank won't suspend my account and take my funds for saying "yes", but I'm not so sure that Linden Labs won't.
