Hi, I was wondering if there are example islands (not builded on) inworld that can be visited just to see how they look. I'm considering buying an island but I'm not sure what to take as shape. Ok I do understand what a complete waterpiece and a full-landpiece means and how it looks like, but I'm not sure about the other options.

You'll find example islands near the "Linden Estate Services" sim. They're called things like "Ruth's Retreat" an stuff.

You can always change the shape of the island after you buy it, it's just a matter of uploading what's called a "raw file" in the estate tools.
See https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=4115 Edited: And https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=4509 That contains all the default raw files so you can try out all four standard islands after you buy it. _____________________

Am I missing something? If you're buying and island (a sim?) then if you own it and have terraform rights, it doesn't matter what it looks like other than a 256m x 256m lump of pixels that you can turn into anything?
You're welcome to visit Cape Romano if you want but i'm not sure exactly if that answers your question in any way? Don't even need to use a raw file, you have tools to terraform though yes if you want a quick job you can use the raw file. Although they need tidying up afterwards. |
