This really ought to go in Products Wanted, but all the action is here, so...
I want a piggy bank. This would be a device that works a little like a tip jar...anyone could pay into it. (It would be backed by an account, most likely an alt.)
But it would have another feature: People on a designated access list could a) query the piggy bank to find out how much is in it, and b) make a withdrawal from it.
Does this exist?

I've used this script before: Personal Alt Bank. The code and the discussion is at /54/e3/123362/1.html

Lindal, I use a product inworld made by Mystical Cookie - same person who makes the Mystitool. I've been quite happy with it. You give an ATM card to the authorized people. You can set a maximum amount for them to take out. It's quite lovely and not very expensive. http://xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=91698

Ooh, Mystical Cookie...I may just buy that item instead of experimenting with Ren's script...I trust Mysti.
Ren...does that script go into a prim owned by the alt who is the "bank account"?

Lin - just be aware that whoever holds the ATM card canNOT query for account balance.

Ren...does that script go into a prim owned by the alt who is the "bank account"? Yea. For example, my work alt has all the money so I have him pay the object a certain amount (say L$1K)and I can withdraw from the bank until it runs out.

I want something like this badly. Right now I'm manually paying my alt, and when I want to withdraw I have to go and log out, log in, pay, log out, and log in again. EDIT: Thanks for the script! <3

one has to wonder why it is some folks get told to post in the right place and flamed for posting here, yet others admit knowingly that it should not be posted here and yet they post it here and no one has an issue with it
(yes I too am guilty of posting in here knowing it should not have been, and I got flamed for it more than once) (I have also seen others post in here and openly admit that they know it should be elsewhere, some get flamed some don't)
I do not think I am the only one who gets flamed, nor do I think the OP is the only one who seems to be accepted.
yet I see the OP and others post here when openly admitting they know they should not, and everyone seems to be ok with it
double standards?

Rha, if you read carefully, I got dinged for it in the very first reply. I got my answer(s) though, so I am unrepentant. If it really bugs you, report the thread and get the mod to move it.

Dang, I wrote one of these for my "banker" alt years ago. I'd have added it to my Freebie box if I thought there was interest in it.
Mine uses a list of alts at the beginning of the script, by UUID. It's also got provision for multiple accounts but I never bothered using that so it's untested.
