Is there a Rp SIM that relies on intelligence and smart talking to get you out of any given situation, instead of gun or knife attacks straight off without warning.

I have been about a few urban city places recently - wanting to use my brain a bit...to smart talk my way around a situation, and all I keep finding is people pulling a gun on me and saying something like "halt - who are you?" Or even better "Give me your money or I shoot".

I recently turned a situation around after being told to 'submit to a person or suffer the consequences', in the end, it turned into an hour long word play tussle, that was really good fun. Then I had a network crash and when I got back on, the person was gone. Heheheh - left a comment about my sexy derrière and how he enjoyed our 'chat'!

I don't want to do combat - I am a rubbish fighter......but I want to use my head - be challenged verbally (without abuse) and think my way about the place and potential 'dangers', without having to solve puzzles and riddles.

Anyone know of a SIM like it ?

There's some Cages/Cells/Jails that in order to get free from them you have to answer Questions, such as math sums.

Other sims I have been to have just groups of people standing together, not talking and apparently all in IM. Hmmm.... *starts thinking of interesting ways to get them to talk as "hi there" doesn't seem to cut it* hehehee

I think the problem is that a situation like you're looking for would depend on the other people who are participating, and that's impossible to control when you're just encountering random strangers. Maybe an easier way would be to put together an RP group of your own, with like-minded people and 'intelligence, not combat' as a basic rule? That way, you could think up scenarios within that group and adapt them to any sim. I bet there are other people out there who would be interested in that sort of RP.

Wow. Usually RP Sims have WAY too much IMing back n forth, and "writing a novel"-style play for me, personally. Some examples would be Midian City and Gotham City. I just ain't got the patience, but it sounds like Midian MIGHT be right up your alley.

The thing is usually which faction you choose, THEN what role within that faction you wanna build your character around.

I have know folks who played in Midan for weeks without a single "fight". They prefer drama, writing, gossip and suspense.

Unless there's been a big shift in the gameplay since Havok 4 hit the Grid, you're just lookin in the wrong spots, & my advice would be keep lookin.

Sounds like my situation in Toxia right now, very little combat...lots of great rp. You will find this in clumps in most rp sims, they almost always have a mix of good rpers, bad ones and the combat junkies. There are no hard and fast rules, just look around until you see something you like the look of and try to get invovled. Works for me.
