Somebody brought up how more than half the guys in SL, regardless of bein' European, end up havin' ta dig REAL hard ta find "non-medittereanen" looking male skins.

What *I* have been wonderin since I started on SL is what's up w/ all the "wistful eyebrows"? Ya got half these guys bulkin' up like they're on steroids...lookin for the best abs & pecs...then the face looks about as "tough" as Justin Timerlake in an IMAX Prison. There's gotta be a big market for skins that don't look so "friendly" w/ all these guys. I myself don't see too many guys walkin around Chicago w/ the "innocent" eyebrows or whatever...especially not buff guys, let alone, just the corner store shopkeeper, or a guy comin home from work.

I HAVE tried skinning & it's TOUGH! ...but for experienced folks, say... for example, I saw a Wolverine (X-Men superhero) av...the best one I've seen in world... and once again w/ the eyebrows.

For men usually the only choice is ta lower the eyebrows almost all the way down, then arc some, and...whatever the bottom slider is, that makes the outside edge of the eyebrows pointy (again, don't see that too much except on drag-queens), when they get a skin.

I made a (albiet REAL crappy/overly shaded) face, w/ the crease between the eyebrows ta make him look a lil more serious/manly or whatever... and just removed the eyebrows, for an experiment.

...is it real hard ta make the actual eyebrows (slightly) less..."emo" for male skins? The skin I have now wears shades half the time for that reason, lol. ...sliders can only do so much. I worked on it until I got kinda close, but I just wanted him to look like a regular guy at work, or on the street, instead of like he just got spanked or raped in jail, like most male skins :P

Try changing your "Hair"... that's where the actual deformers are for the eyebrow height, curve, etc. If you've got prim hair, try a different "bald" or go mod your eyebrow sliders if yours is moddable.

Short answer... those "emo" eyebrows are your doing, not the skin makers.

Funny, I thought just the opposite. Most eyebrows make me look grouchy. Of course, I AM gouchy, but that doesn't mean I want to look that way. Maybe it's the skin I'm using.

I can't really answer your question, but remember, you can control the eyebrows a lot just using different bald bases.

Now if I could just find normal hair that doesn't cover one eye or look like I slept on one side of it . . .

I agree that a lot of the male faces have the 'male model' type of look. But then again so do most of the female faces (look like female models). Also the skins for most males have such shaded musculature that if you put it on a skinny or chubby avatar it looks freaky. The same can be said of female skins that have the chest shaded in a manner to suggest they are balloons.

I certainly don't associate Mediterranean with wistful. It might be easier to understand what you're after if you would describe it directly, instead of relying on so many metaphors and similes which will have either different meanings or no meanings for different people.

Yeah, I have ALWAYS, used the eyebrow sliders. Under a skin, I tell guys to just "remove" the "Ruth" eyebrows...so they don't show the faint shadow under the skin...

^If ya look at my OP^^ again^...^^^^^^^^^

I already said how guys including me, use the sliders to bring down, and arch the eyebrows.

If I could get on the Grid, I would post a pic of my experiment, ta show what I meant about the "crease"...

Usually male skins eyebrows look like ~ (best example I can give :P), but the inner edge of the eyebrow hair is tilted upwards to make him look friendlier, I'm guessing. I see a lot of women w/ pretty arched eyebrows, but so pointy usually don't look right w/ male skins.

I started out like a lotta n00bs without a real skin, so my eyebrows were pretty pointy yeah...after goin' through so many demo skins w/ buddies looking for skins that resemble them, or what they WISH they looked like, heh... I noticed the guys in all the metal bars, gangs, or whatever with the "wistful eyebrows", and thought "I'm pretty sure that Army guy didn't mean to look THAT harmless.

Hmm.. no, no...I'm trying to be clear here, I didn't say "Meditteraen guys look wistful anywhere" up there. ^ That would be like saying "Black skins look mean." (yet another comparison, yeah yeah...)

I mentioned that there had been a Forum Post on that before, which led to a good amount of help (as usual) and links, for men to find say...Blonde, or skins without the usual manicured goatees.

I THEN, said *I* personally was wondering if it's tough to make the eyebrows look less "stoned", wistful etc, than I have seen.

I'm trying to explain it clearly, but maybe my lingo is just weird overseas.

I live in Chicago as well and I too have no frickin clue what you are talking about. Unsurprisingly, describing subtleties of facial expression is hard in words, so maybe you should post some pictures to show what you mean.

Also, I too thought you were saying "mediterranean" and "wistful" were associated with each other. After seeing your correction, I had to re-read your original post multiple times to see that you aren't saying they are associated. For future reference, if you don't want to make an incorrect association, then don't lead with irrelevant details. People generally assume the first sentence/paragraph lays out your point.
