I created an alt 2 weeks ago via the CSI portal. She is not age verified and has no payment info on file, but from the beginning she has had the 'Show in Search' checkbox in her profile checked. This was the default, and I haven't changed it. I cannot find this alt in New Search, although she comes up in Search > People just fine, and has done from the moment I signed her on for the first time. QUESTION: If you are less than 2 weeks old, or you have a brand new alt, are you showing up in New Search? You can test this right now. Paste the following link into your browser and replace FIRSTNAME and LASTNAME with your own avatar's name: http://secondlife.com/app/search/search?q=FIRSTNAME+LASTNAME

Yep, my alt from 15 Feb. is still missing from new search. So is another from 13 January, now that I look. Both of these are no payment on file, which IIRC would cause avatars to be skipped when new search first appeared too.

Wildfire, do you have any other alts?
My primary av shows up, plus my first alt which is actually my partners av. None of my other alts show up in the new search. There may be a limit to the number that will show.

Yes, I have a few alts, and only the newest one is not showing up. The thing is, ever since late 2006 it hasn't even been possible to tell LL that your avatar was an alt. When I signed up for this new avatar, I was not asked for ANY personal information other than an email address, and when I supplied the email I use for wilde and all my alts it said the email was already in use and made me specify another. There was no 'I'm an alt' checkbox like there used to be back in 2006. So as far as LL is concerned, this avatar is a completely new resident, and she's apparently being left out of the search statistics.

I have several alts that I use for modeling and none of them have ever showed up in search. When I attempt to make new alts now LL refuses to allow me to do so even when I use a new email, so the only thing I'm aware of is they restrict me by IP address. It seems far fetched to me, but that's the only thing I can reason because friends of mine who made avs after my alts do show up.

I have several new alts/avies, but they only show up in People Search, not New Search.

I wish I still had a link to it, but the alt limit has been officially lifted. Also, it sounds like this is affecting other people too. I'm going to submit a Jira on this.

I couldn't find anything similar in Jira, so I submitted a new one: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1737Seems like a big deal to me because it means new residents don't currently have a 'voice' in terms of search results at this point.

My alt is not in the new search either. Well, that's okay. We're always together whenever she's online anyways. (^_^)y
