For lack of a better title to the thread, I have to ask what what are good prizes for an arcade?

I recently made an arcade, and it is done in such a way that when you get the ticket roll and attach it then play the games, you can earn tickets.

anywho... the tickets (just like the RL arcades) can be exchanged for prizes.

The thing is I am clueless what types of prizes to put out there, so I put up a wanted post in the products wanted forum so if ppl wanted to donate items they could, but not many looks...

I know in this day it is hard to hand over an item that is of any kind of niceness, with copy xfer permissions, so the nice thing about the arcade and prizes, is if someone other than the owner wants to donate a prize, there is a way to do so, where the arcade owner doesn't get a copy of the prize in question.

now... my biggest delimina is, what is the best types of prizes for an arcade, games are only 5L and 10L, so nothing major big in the way of prizes.

Also what is the nicest, and best way to ask folks if they want to donate a prize?... or should I just make all my own prizes? if so what kind of stuff LOL

thanks in advance, I am lost
love playing the arcade games but lost as to what prizes to offer.

What about themed prizes. Talk to other owners about a days free skiing, hangliding, ballooning (explorings!!) Also, Halloween is coming up (and I know someone who's made halloween costumes - I think - as a giveaway, etc, etc. etc.

In other words, think about giving various - possibly unknown - ways of looking at SL as prizes.

thanks chas
this is my problem I am suddenly clueless about what to offer

I thought about the usual silly stuff, some costume jewelry type things maybe themed for halloween

like a spider rings, that kind thing...

but over all....

clue... less....
heh was doing so well until it came to "what kind of prizes do I offer"

eeek

(of course each ticket level would have multiple prizes so I would want it to be things that would interest others)

I thought about gift certificates from other places, but that would mean the other places would want to offer that...

I know I will put one in for my own store... maybe a week free rent in the city as well..

Exactly. This is the key. get together with other people or businesses to offer winners something a bit a more than the usual freebies. Perhaps something they'll wnat top repeat, or evben buy at some point. Good luck!

How about something a person can win and then give as a gift to someone who is with them? Like a flower for your hair... or a tattoo... a pet spider that sits on your shoulder?

debating if the items will be transfer or not, nothing will be major valued so setting the prizes as transfer is not that big of an issue I guess (or maybe the novelty type prizes can be transfer)

yep flower for hair good idea

got some ideas from a friend too, she said think about what is in the novelty stores and go from there hehe

so gonna make lava lamps plasma balls, groucho glasses she said she will try to make me a water gun hehe, that kind of stuff, glow in the dark necklace

I think I will put in a 1 week free rent for the sim stores, and gift cert for my own store

slot machine?? LOL nah I will just toss those in the fire in the hobo area

cris those are good ideas too and should not be too hard to make, just some particle effects, thanks!!

Want to try to make as much of this stuff as I can, but always open to anyone who wants to donate items, (and get some advertising, as I would put in the ad names of things donated by ppl)

once I get this done I will be placing an ad in classified, already in search places
