Tomorrow is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Does anyone know of a chat translator that could be used to make the day complete? I'd be satisfied with throwing in the occasional Arrr! but it might be fun to do it up right. :)

Is this serious? Talk like a Pirate Day?

Some time ago, fiancee and I were playing silly whatsits with Aha Jim Lad and others and I came out with Avast Behind! which I have heard on many occasions.

Fiancee got all upset at that point and we kinda changed the subject

Did he try to convince you that they are just resting?

I, for one, hope this is for real. I want to be a pirate. Arrrrrrrrrrr.

I have just learned that there is a version of the babbler that translates into pirate, but I do not know which version or know where to get it.

Oh, and it may not be called the babbler.

Does this help in any way?

Sometimes I have little more to offer than my enthusiasm.

This appears to be one of those times. *sigh matey*

Yes, it actually does. It's the sort of functionality I would be looking for. It seems part of my brain remembers once coming across something like this but it may be the part that hits the beam every time I go down to the cellar.

Babbler does it. Grab a copy from someone with it, or in the freebie boxes in Calleta's hobo camp.

**In related news... we've having a pirate treasure hunt on Livingtree for the 19th. :-)

It basically consists of swapping the word "my" for "me" and that seems to be about it

"I have my hand stuck underneath this camel and require assistance." became
"I have me hand stuck underneath this camel and require assistance."

and "You buffoon!! You have poured custard all over my new brogues!" remained the same entirely.

I was rather disappointed actually :(
