I like my privacy on my land but also like flying in a balloon.
It is a big turn down when you get ejected from land, even tp'd home and your vehicule is somewhere on its own, littering someone's land.
I suppose it is the same for other people.
I would like to permit people to travel trough my lands but not stay too long or annoy me and my guests. I there some way I can do this with the land management tools?
I would create a group for me and my friends and grant acces to others for a limited time and have them kicked out automaticaly if they exceed that time.

I'm afraid this would require a script. The only built-in thing I can think of that's based on time-of-stay is "sell passes" access control, which is surely not going to work here.
Usually security "orbs" give people some short time to get themselves off the land. You could presumably crank that up to several minutes so an unintentional intruder would have a fair chance of disentangling their vehicle, find parcel boundaries, and scram, before being ejected. (Please don't set it to teleport them home; that's just cruel.)
One possible advantage of a security script compared to a built-in parcel setting is that you may be able to set it to operate only while you're present in-world (or in the sim, or on the parcel itself) if that's appealing, letting anybody pass through when you're not around; you could also set specific height ranges at which it operates--including well above the limit of the parcel settings. (E.g., I've set up some parcels to only monitor skybox altitudes, leaving open access thousands of meters high.)

If you want to "sell " simple access for your land, you can use the land properties for that. Now if you want to doit with automatic time limit the solution is with an script. you need to look at this funtion llAddToLandPassList http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlAddToLandPassListAt the bottom of that page are the related funtions. llAddToLandBanList llRemoveFromLandBanList llRemoveFromLandPassList llResetLandBanList llResetLandPassList Look at the example script , maybe its what are you looking for.

I agree that it's annoying to be denied access. That's why I don't put up banlines, and only use security orbs to protect the smallest area necessary for privacy.
There's no way I know of to allow access for just a limited time, unless you try Qie's "long warning period" setting on a security orb.
I just let people come by. Most people, even those who stop and stay for a while, are polite. I've even made a few friends from meeting random passing strangers. If they become annoying, then it's time for some fun target practice.

Instead of "Ban lines" use a scripted security device that only affects a designared volume of space within or very close to your building. Most of the current security orbs can be set to restrict access to a tightly-defined area, instead of just affecting the whole parcel.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.
