I think you must be seeing people who are using the Emerald viewer. There are options for the select particles in that viewer.

Marin is correct. And they aren't hearts, they're emeralds. :-)

Well, the default shape is an emerald, (sort of a green outline of Superman's pentagonal chest emblem) but there are a variety to choose from and uploading a custom image is trivial.

That's one of the two things that I really dislike about the *excellent* Emerald viewer. Fortunately, that one can be changed back to the normal beam effect. But I haven't found any way to get rid of the other - the name and tag in green, which isn't so bad, with the word ";(Emerald)" after the name, which *is* bad, imo. It's only seen that way to Emerald users, but I still dislike it - a lot. If anyone knows a way to make the name and tag look like the standard viewers version (brown) to Emerald users, pray tell.

If you turn off the clothing layer protection feature under the Shields tab, others won't see the Emerald tag on you. (It's a good idea to rebake after switching this, to make sure the change takes.) There is also a "stealth mode" button under the Shields tab that will turn off all features that would identify you as an Emerald user.

Under the TP/Login tab is a checkbox "Display Client Tags", you can uncheck that if you don't want to see what others are running.

(ETA: that's on version 673, will edit later if you need to do things differently on 904.)

Aha! The other day, I was experinmenting with another Emerald user and we ended up with neither of us being able to see the other's green/Emerald name and we thought we'd cracked it. But yesterday I asked someone if they could see it, and they could. We'd tried experimenting with the Stealth button, including going into Appearance (for a rebake, I suppose). I came to the conclusion that the Clothing Layer option didn't make any difference and I ended up with it checked, but that was no doubt because our testing wasn't very logical :) I've just made sure that Stealth is on and I now have the Clothing Layer off. I'll check with someone.

Thank you for that :)
