Ok...this is a new one on me. I had deleted several things from my inventory awhile back...and then, as most of us have experienced from time to time, things also just seem to disappear on occasion, never to be seen again. Well today we found them. We were working on our new club. And my partner happened to click on the floor and saw the option to open...so clicked on it. There was everything. Some of the stuff I wasn't even ON this property when I deleted it! And, so you understand what I am saying...it wasn't UNDER the floor, it was IN the floor. Edited to say....MY stuff was now in HIS name...so I couldn't just take it or copy it back to my inventory. He had to copy it to his and give me things I wanted...even non-transfer stuff he was able to give me.

One question...WTF??

One way something like this can happen: if you built that floor, accidentally dragged some of your inventory onto it (for example, non-prim items will go into the object you drag them onto since they can't rez, and ctrl-drag will drop them inside that prim regardless). If you then gave or sold the floor to your partner (or it was already his and you had permission to drag stuff into it), that could explain it.

If something like that didn't happen, then well wtf? =)

Hey Pocket, this is a known issue. I posted about it here in the forums, but here's the direct link to the JIRA 6110:

http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6110

If you read the comments in there, (and please add a vote) you'll see that some of the folks were able to recover their dance appliance (HUDs, AOs, Sphere or chim). Hopefully you'll take a few minutes to provide some details about your HUD disappearing in there as well. According to one person whose appliance was recovered, the Lindens are keeping an eye on the comments in that JIRA 6110.

Good luck, I hope you're one of the fortunate who is able to have yours recovered!

Hey Blu,

One day I was using my diving ledge at my pool, but after each dive, the poseball disappeared. It was quite frustrating to have to rerez it after each dive.

Fast forward a couple months, I was doing a photo shoot up on the diving rock, (just stationary poses and not using the diving poseball). I saw something odd in the second story window of our house which was on the other side of the length of the pool. Lo and behold, I panned the camera over there and found 2 of the diving poseballs embedded in the window.

Furthermore, about a week later, I found 2 more of them embedded in the small hill at the corner of our lot.

I figured they'd included gremlins in one of the updates.

...and while you're there - if you happen to see a large brown leather sofa sectional with matching chair...and a statue that looks like an ice sculpture - those would be mine...thanks ;)

That might explain the mysterious offline IM I received Friday where one of my neighbors returned an object named "Object" to me from her property. Now I'm going to have to login and see what goodies I might find. I'll let you know if it's any of the aforementioned items.

Edit: Mine was due to human error. I had built a boat dock up to the edge of the property. I forgot when I widened the dock by 1m to shift it over a half meter then placed a pier on the corner, on my neighbor's plot. So, unless anyone needs a pier ... [RESOLVED]

Well...ahem...er...I found a bed, a sofa and a few interesting huds...I am using them to furnish my new house. Hope you don't mind. And with the gobs of $L I found embedded in the walls...well, I am on a shopping spree. Ok, ok...lol..JK.

It is good to know this isn't something I did, as my partner, through uncontrollable bouts of laughter kept insisting it was. LOL. If I clicked and dragged it all to the floor before it poofed...I could understand...but, like I said, some things weren't even on this property, not even on THIS SIM when I deleted them. Ah, it is these little interesting adventures and discovers that make SL a strange and unusual place to hang out.

We ought to have a new Map capability...Show Only My Objects. Then we could find our lost stuff no matter where on the grid it's wandered off to.
