In-world map updating?

I know this has been asked before, and sorry to ask again, but I can't find it in the search. (I never seem to be able to find anything..bleh)

How often does the in-world map update? The sim I'm working on with my Mistress hasn't looked like the map shows for about two weeks, maybe more, now, and I'd love to see it updated. My House I think is still showing a map from sometime in mid March...

So how often is it updated?

I think the closest zoom level updates every week or so. They've had problems for a year+ with zooming more out, though - those pictures are WAY out of date.

it used to be once a week, then went to once every two weeks. now, it's been stuck at the same image for about a month. i wonder if LL knows it's borked.

There are times when it seems to update very frequently, then after I add or remove something I would like to see the results of.... It stops for a very long time.

I am not saying that I am to blame or anything but I do seem to have a inverse relationship with the map updates...

Agreed, sometimes I've seen it update in a week, sometimes it's been 4 or more. I'm suspicious it may be a manual process they trigger when they feel the grid can handle it ^.^

Apparently, it's a very expensive process to have a sim generate its map.. No real graphics hardware on the blade servers means they have to do it in software.

Even with that, I'm not sure I get why the less-than-totally-zoomed maps are so hugely far out of date - I see stuff that I'd swear hasn't been around for a year, though I could just be getting old.. Seems that once they get the detailed map from the sim, it'd be pretty straight-forward to generate lower-rez versions of it.

Yes, i was talking with someone not long ago about the current land store, many of those sim pictures are over a year and a half old. In fact, sims I bought after Jan 2007 don't even show up as existing. I'm sure the new land store will take care of that... (right LL? :S )
