My impression has been that most people just use Search --> Land Sales. Do the classifieds actually work for land ? Thanks in advance for your time.

The Land Sales tab was always too confusung for me. So I do lookup the word 'realtor', 'residential' or 'private ispand' when land shopping through the classifieds. The pictures always help in making a decision to visit the parcel

I'll try again as we're talking land sales.
People do use classifieds for land sales, they use the land rentals section and it's a pain in the arse to see land rentals being misused like this. |

I don't actually search the classifieds per se, but they make a little dollar sign with mouseover info on sale parcels on the Map, and that is useful when land hunting.

Anyway that system doesn't exist anymore in the new search engine, instead of that you have google like ads: when you search in all tab, at the right of the screen they appear in a separate box.

For land sales, no. I use the land sales tab and filter for mainland, or I go map hopping and look for desirable locations by looking for yellow parcels.

That mousever "$" isn't linked to Classifieds. It comes up plain vanilla parcels on sale to. There don't seem to be any rules for it. The icon can come and go at will, on the same plot without anything changing on the plot. This I know from my own experience. There's a mythology of the "$" icon. I've seen all sorts of theories as to the rules. As far as I can see, it's random. I wish the icon came up for all parcels all the time. It would save a ton of TPing. _____________________
