Strange... 2 object folders?

I don't know if I've ever asked this before but for about 1 1/2 years I've had two object folders. Of course I started out with one, but for some reason after a while I ended up with 2 somehow. Most of my objects now are automatically sent to the new folder... but sometimes the folders even switch spots in my inventory. lol

I want to clean out my object folder and delete the old one but I'm really afraid to. What if my main folder deletes too?

I've asked some friends who have been on SL for awhile and they have never seen that before. Anyone else have this happen?

It could happen. There's nothing that keeps you from having duplicate folder names, at least when I create an outfit and make the folder name the same as an existing one I get two copies. You can open two Inventory windows and drag stuff from one object folder over to the other if you are getting confused ... it sometimes makes it easier to reorganize things, and then when one of them is empty delete it. I'd try to purchase something and see which folder it goes into...keep that one and clean out the other. Good luck. Jackie.

HI, Dementia! It very very rarely happens that two of a system folder shows up in inventory; usually this is an artifact of you logging out during a sim glitch. There have also been a few bugs that cause this. You could try clearing cache (or, better yet, deleting your local cache file), and relogging. (edit: usually, you will find that you cannot delete a spare "objects" folder, even if you try).

If that doesn't work, contact Linden support (for this, even a Basic account can log a support request). They are the only ones who can fix it, and they have done so in the past.

Well, it's actually not too problematic to have 2 object folders. All my bought items go into my new objects folder so I'm going to clean out the old folder and reorganize my new one.

I was just wondering if it's ever happened to someone else before lol

I don't have two of any of the system folders, but I do have a "new folder" that will not let me rename it or delete it.

I have a little pet folder that renames itself all the time, but I like it.

I have an alt that has 12 Object folders (O.o), and clearing cache, etc, etc, doesn't do anything. They can't be deleted, either

In my case, however, I use that particular alt as a bot more than as an actual avatar, so perhaps that's how things got jacked?

yep i has 4 folders called "object" from the system base, and some times the objects take it goes to one or another one, so i need to fond in wich one its
