I have a moderatly popular freebie on my SLX store...)or whatever it calls itself nowadays-xlstreet?

Ive fiddled and fiddled with the settings...and cant seem to stop it notifying me each time one is bought. I get my email box stuffed with mail each day- anywhere between 20-30...and i cant identify them as from slx for this freebie without opening the email (Im not talking inworld notifications - I stopped those no problem)
Its just irritating..Iam surely not stupid and have done what seems logical...ticking the *do not notify* box and ticking the item...then update...?

any ideas anyone? thankyou!

Click your rezzed Magic Box inworld for the setting you want. I'm not logged to check the exact details right now, but one of the options will be something like 'stop notifications' or 'no notifications'. That's the setting that will stop your email inbox from filling up.

ETA: Ah, sorry. Should have read your post more thoroughly. The only thing I can suggest is to associate a Gmail/Googlemail account with your XStreet account, which will mean you only get one actual email per day for your freebie item; all the others will be threaded as 'replies' to that same email.

Hi Faithless...

What I do is put the freebies in there own Seperate SLX Box...that way The subject Heading on Email tells me that its a Freebie because thats what I named the box...

Actually Have that on all of my stuff in SLEX/XStreet Helps let me know at a glance what is sold...

Also I think you can turn off indidual boxes from notifying you if I remeber correctly...

Thanks guys :))

I did check out the box notecards...and fiddled with it a bit..and my boxes are labelled as what they are ie: the item name..but AOL bless them dont seem to label my mails..it just says *message from second life*, and I get quite a few of those lol

I think asssociating a diff email account might be the way to go :)

thanks for your speedy replies xx

I use a gmail account for everything. XStreet notifications get archived and labeled immediately.

*huggles her gmail* Oh, yes. Gmail is definitely the way to go.

Also, I see you said you fiddled with the settings, but did you toggle off the "notify upon sale" on the item itself? I think that overrides all the other settings, so that might be the problem. If you did and are still receiving them, you might wanna let them know about the bug.

If I recall correctly, there is an option on the SLX product set up page which has a checkbox for notifications. This is separate of the magic box itself, and if that box is checked then you will get an email directly from SLX with each sale.

I also recall that this checkbox is checked by default when you add a new item.

I ended up going and editing all my SLX listings to turn off the notifications, for the same reason - it gets a bit crazy when sales are busy. (one of the few areas where I like OnRez's method...they give you the option of a one email per day sales summary.)

That's it. In the Edit Item window there is a box to check/uncheck "Receive Sale Notifications :" Then click on "Update Item".

You may have to uncheck it item by item. But start with the ones you are receiving notices on.

It appears that once you have unchecked that box and Updated Item, it saves that as the default setting the next time you create a new item listing.
