I was playing with settings this morning and now every time something moves or I click on something I see semi-transparent colored cones emanating from what ever or who ever it is. This happened once before and it took days to figure out how to get rid of it. I'll be really grateful if someone can help me.

the first time this happened to me i was so desperate for a fix i uninstalled and reinstalled sl twice. imagine my horror when that did not fix the problem!
this happens all the time too. as soon as i saw the thread title i knew it was the 'show updates' thing. i think ll need to change the name of that option. 'show updates' implies that it is something that it is not, and i know in my case it somewhat suggested that it was something that should be enabled. _____________________

The first time it happened to me I almost went crazy until I begged my son to figure it out for me.
You are so right - "show updates" seems like something you'd want to have. "highlight updates" would give more of a clue. I didn't even try unchecking that even though it was the second time it happened! _____________________
