Six months is an eternity in SL.

The land rental business has been slow. Picked up in the last week though. And the price of mainland has jumped up a full L$1 per meter in the last week.

My rentals come in fits and starts, had a very busy two days on mainland but estate rentals are dead.

Strange thing is that I find that even if a sim is messy, the rentals do well there whereas plots in land where there are lots of other plots for sale (not always with spinning for sale signs) the take up is much slower.

Maybe people see a busy sim and think it's the place to be. Personally, if I was renting I'd go for the prettier looking plot, but that's just me.

My rental business is growing. I've had a few short-term tenants, but most tenants who have moved have gone to a bigger place within my property. I'm about to convert 4 smaller apartments into 2 large ones since those are renting faster for me. If the trend continues, my goal is to open an island within the next month. None of this is meant to be a boast, but to encourage others that you can make it if you work hard to please your customers. The key for me has been to pay close attention to what people want, and rework all future plans around that. I don't believe there is anything horribly wrong with the SL economy.
