A few days ago I decided to change from the boots I had been wearing (that I have worn many times before) to some nice high heels (that I have also worn before). Normally I don't have any issues with my ankles on my av other than the normal odd ankle part that sticks out. Upon inspection of my feet, I noticed this atrocity... Now like I said, I've always had the odd ankle part that is well known on us ladies, but this...this is horrid and none of my shoes fit right anymore. I have detached all prims, removed all clothing, gone into and out of appearance 100 times, changed shapes, edited shapes, reinstalled SL (I use Cool Viewer), stood on my head and sang the Star Spangled Banner backwards, and have cursed like a sailor to all my friends (who also see the problem). I even went without shoes for a day thinking I was retaining water and they needed a break. All to no avail. Has anyone else had this issue or has any idea of what could be causing this or am I cursed with cankles from hell forever? Any help, condolences or pie would be appreciated. Actually, hold off on the pie as anything I eat seems to go to my ankles these days

(try just making the foot bigger to see how much it takes for it to go away)

hit ctrl-alt-t and make sure an invisiprim from your boots didn't stick to your foot somehow when you took them off.
Cankles are usually the result of too-small feet but I can see a fold in front that shouldn't be there lol
also check the heels, it might be that you somehow accidentally shifted the invisiprim and need to adjust it

I think it happens when your leg muscle slider is set to over 50 and your feet are set to zero.

On my taller shape it was really pronounced. as bree mentioned it is the leg muscle and feet combination

(try just making the foot bigger to see how much it takes for it to go away) My foot size is the same as they have always been, this huge ankle lump is new And just for spite, I already tried this, all it did was make the lumps larger.

After asking a few friends about it and not finding a solution that worked...I decided to not look at my ankles and just ignore it

You know, it's unfortunate; but, I broke my ankle in RL... and that's exactly what it looks like now.

It's permanently swollen and on both sides where the bone is supposed to be looks just like the OP's pic. LOL Sometimes my av has it and sometimes she doesn't. I usually rebake or go into apperance mode and it goes away. I notice it more when I change pants like going from capri's to wide bottoms or shorts to jeans etc. Usually I am zoomed up tho so after awhile I forget about it

I noticed the exact same thing the day after a friend of mine noticed it. It's not happened before and neither of us have changed any settings. This isn't the first time my body has changed and other people have noticed the same thing with their shapes too. If we've changed nothing to start with - how can we change it back??

I don't think I've ever known my ankles to NOT be like that. I just put it down to the avatar mesh being poor quality, and keep wearing long pants and/or boots whenever possible.

I'm wondering if the Lindens have done something to the avatar mesh in general. Lately I've noticed that my head seems to have shrunk - roots are showing on hairstyles that have always been fine up till now. I've noticed this on my alt, too, so it isn't just a matter of having changed my shape and forgotten about it.
