I just rented a plot next to my main place for extra prims to build a project .There are flashing ban lines there that are driving me barking ,worse at night.I am building right next to the border so they are a constant hassle.I know I could or should get in touch with the owners but I don,t, like making waves.
Tonight it seems particuarly bad and I am feeling squeamish. My question...I have been thinking that these lines might affect people who can,t take strobe lighting. I am not one of them but I definitely can't take ban lines.

For now, yeah, maybe ask the neighbor if they can give you access for a little relief.
1.22 just came out so it's going to be a while, but 1.23 is supposed to have a toggle to hide ban lines altogether.

In the meantime, the only way to hide Ban Lines is with an Invisiprim. But this will also hide avatars and any other 32bit textures on the other side.

From: Blot Brickworks My question...I have been thinking that these lines might affect people who can,t take strobe lighting. They do. There's worse things in SL (some animated textures or those strobe lights you find in clubs), but the banlines have the effect too. Instant migraines for me I added a toggle to my self-compiled viewer a while ago, it's not a complicated thing to do so it might be that some of the third-party viewers have a banline toggle in place already. Otherwise, like Viktoria said, 1.23 is going to have it, and since 1.22 is out now, 1.23 should start soonish with the Release Candidates ...

Here's a way to get rid of the ban lines on your computer only. A mentor gave me these instructions and told me it was ok to pass this along. Everyone else will still see the flashing, but at least you won't.
Close SL
Take a copy of C:\Program Files\SecondLife\Skins\textures\textures.xml in case of problems (Location might be slightly different, dependingon where you installed SL) Edit the file C:\Program Files\SecondLife\Skins\textures\textures.xml (right click, Open With, Notepad - the default association for .xml probably won't let you edit) Find the line containing: noentrylines.tga value="5d3e196b-fd4d-ada7-e4c1-99f8e9f1cfbf" Change to noentrylines.tga value="f54a0c32-3cd1-d49a-5b4f-7b792bebc204" Save the file Restart SL
You will need to do this every time SL is updated
