Hi all,

I am going to enter my credit card information in my profile, so that i can upgrade to premium user or to buy linden dollars and more...

Unfortunately every time I enter my VISA cards information I receive a "Not authorized" error from the globalcollect system used by second life.

I have tested this more than 30 times and with two completely different credits cards and all the same result

I can not understand what is the problem, and I do not know how to solve it.
Has any body encoutered the same problem?
anybody knows a solution for this?

thanks

Hopefully someone can pop in here with first hand knowledge on this but this is one thing that might apply:

Linden Lab's bank is in Great Britain. Some banks have anti-fraud algorithms that automatically stop transactions to offshore banks. I ran into a problem a couple of months ago when buying a piece of software. The bank was in Germany and I wasn't able to use my Visa until I called up my bank and authorized the purchase.

This is a problem on your card issuer's end, not Second Life's end.
You need to call your card issuer and have a chat with them.

They may just be automatically blocking the transaction for your safety.

Call your bank and ask them. It might be that their risk department is blocking the transaction. If that is the case, call the risk department (not the regular call center, they usually cannot help you with this issue) and ask to allow your payments to Linden Lab.

But that is not always the case. I had the same problems about year ago. Then everything came regular and worked perfectly, until a month ago. Now I am stuck between LL and bank, both asserting everything is fine on their side. And I cannot pay my rent!

My friend had this same problem, he has one of those WalMart debit cards and they were blocking it because the way LL handles it makes it look like a fraud situation. A quick call cleared it up.
