Objects on Land ?

I have some land that is owned by a group. In the About Land box, Objects tab, I have some objects that are 'set to group' and some that are 'owned by others'.

1) Almost all of the objects are owned by members of the group. So is the 'set to group' count the number of items that were rezzed while the owner had the group actually active at that time? This sounds correct based upon counts.

2) When I click on the 'show' button next to 'objects owned by others', nothing gets hilited. However, I am staring at some trees that the owner placed without having his group tag activated - shouldn't those be hilited when I click on that 'show' button?

3) As I'm flying up to check on other possible objects, how do I keep track of my land boundaries?

Thanks all,

Linden trees and plants will not be highlighted, like they don't highlight when editing them.

Property Lines are on and work great when I'm on the ground. When I fly up though, I have to turn my draw distance all the way up and keep looking back down to see those lines - and I thought you couldn't take draw distance any higher than 512, so how do I see them after I'm higher than that? Is there some way to make them extend up into the sky so that I can easily tell if some platform is on my property or not?

Thanks - that answers that part of the mystery.

And I was able to finally find *most* of the other objects not set to group. However, there is one name in the list that does not belong to the group - must have got an object there before the land was changed to group build and group object entry. And I cannot seem to find that object -- that is why I was checking the sky.

Just try to return the platform. If it goes away, it was on your property. You can also put a prim at the edge of your property and raise it to the same height as the platform to see if it's overlapping. Or stand on the platform and look at the X,Y coordinates of your avatar.

Ahah - the X,Y coordinates - that was too simple.

Now for the final piece of my puzzle. The Names list on the Objects tab is showing one name that is not part of the group and he owns one object. It is not on the ground as far as I can tell - not that much stuff on the ground - and it is not anything in the sky that is large enough to be obvious. So is there any way to easily check the sky for some random unknown, possibly small, object? The easier thing would probably be to get the other allowable objects actually set to the proper group and then turn on auto-return.

This one's simple too. Select the name from the list, then hit the return button that is at the top of the list. It'll only return his item.

Before you return that item to the non-member individual, you may still want to find out what it is.

It is possible that it is an invisible scripted object which is doing you no good at all, or perhaps it is underground.

Before returning it, turn on the various beacons and then search the ground from very close and then a bit farther away. Also turn on Highlight Transparent.

As for seeing your own land boundaries from very high up -- turn on Land Owners in the View menu -- your land will be bright green while all the rest are red (or tan, if they are for sale).
