Why is it when I disable spatial audio under voice setting for my land the headphones do not dissapear?
Why is it when I click "Show in search" for a prim it does not stay on?
Again, I'm sure the answers have been posted here somewhere but I'm too lazy to look. Thanks in advance.

restrict spatial audio is not turning off voice
im sure there is a way to turn off voice on your parcel but im too lazy to tell you how
spatial audio to parcel just makes it so you can not hear 'prims' playing sounds on nearby parcels

About Land/Media. Tick the little thing that says, "Disable spatial audio on this parcel"

From: Cunundrum Alcott Why is it when I disable spatial audio under voice setting for my land the headphones do not dissapear? Works for me, at least on the WindLight client with voice enabled. From: someone Why is it when I click "Show in search" for a prim it does not stay on? Search has *some* standards!

When voice was first implemented, the headphones would be right back up there on the toolbar every time I logged on, even though I never used voice. To get rid of them, I had to turn voice on, then turn it off again, every single time. However, the effect was purely cosmetic - the fact that voice was not enabled meant that it couldn't be used on my land, despite the headphones being visible. I was told at the time it was one of the many teething problems of voice - I no longer have land, so I don't know whether it's been fixed, nor do I know whether it was related to being a Mac user. Just by the by, reading Knowledge Base occasionally, browsing the blogs and perusing the many support pages can be pretty interesting at times...

Oh... so maybe it is turned off and my viewer is doing what your describing. I just don't want someone walking around jabbering away and thinking I'm rude because I don't reply

if you dont have voice on in your client other voice chatter will know this cuz you 1) wont have a voice dot 2) wont be in the active speaker list 3)they will not 'talk' to you and think your rude for not responding. your question was about disabling it for everyone who walks onto your land, not how people know you have it turned off in your client. dont use the 'restrict' check box, use the disable radio button. the reason it wont show sometimes on the top of the screen is a known documented user fixed but linden labs refuses to fix bug. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2142Parcel voice icon doesn't reflect disabled status if voice isn't used Created: 13/Aug/07 11:41 AM Updated: 16/Jan/08 10:57 AM Component/s: User Interface, Voice Affects Version/s: 1.18.1.2, 1.18.2.0, 1.18.3 Release Candidate, 1.18.3.5, 1.18.4 Release Candidate, 1.18.4.3, 1.18.5 Release Candidate, 1.18.5.3, 1.18.6 Release Candidate Fix Version/s: None

From: Cunundrum Alcott Thats exactly what I did, maybe mainland sims cannot be voice disabled? I've been able to, and I'm mainland. But I haven't tried it in the last few days. *shrugs* With SL behaving the way it is, it could be a glitch. Like Qie, I'm also using the Windlight Viewer.

poopmaster what your illustrating is exactly how I have it setup but the headphones still appear on my (viewer?) land. However, as others have pointed out there seems to be different effects depending on what viewer your using.
